Chapter Coordinator Tasks (Region 1 Operations Manual) • Establish and maintain communications with the Region 1 Chapters • Work with the Area Chairs to help rejuvenate inactive Region 1 Chapters • Assist the Sections and the Societies in the creation of new Region 1 Chapters • Find meaningful solutions to concerns and problems that are raised by the Region 1 Chapters • Enhance Region 1 Chapter management • Develop appropriate training curricula, materials, and programs for Chapter officers, researching what the Societies have to offer • Encourage mutual Chapter support by Societies and Sections.

  3. Present Situation • Position was vacant for 2 years • Function under Director-Elect • 2008 Budget = 0 • Last Chapter Coordinator in 2005 • Michael Chester • 4 new chapters formed in 2005 • Chapter Chairs get no support from Region

  4. 2008 Goals • Review existing chapters • Activity level: identify inactive chapters • Determine viability: # of society members • Encourage chapter formation • Identify candidate chapters • Assist section leadership in formation of new chapters • Assist in finding speakers • Encourage leadership succession planning • Develop a network of chapter chairs
