  3. Location Carinthia is located at the intersection of Romance, Germanic and Slavic cultural groups. It is the bridgehead to Southern and Southeast Europe in the south of Austria, on the border to Italy and Slovenia. 300 kilometer is the diameter of a circle in which Ljubljana, Trieste, Udine, Salzburg and Graz are situated. Sheep-breeding beyond borders - To increase the “Brillenschaf” population up to numbers that can ensure the survival of this breed of sheep (approx. 5000) - To broaden the genetic basis through importing breeding animals - Joint cooperation with Slovenian breeders in running the Ram Rearing Station in Slovenia - To link the tourist and catering industry and the farming industry - To safeguard the survival of small farms in the project area - To increase the net product of member businesses

ORGANIC Alpine-Adriatic - To establish the regions of Carinthia, Friuli- Venezia Giulia and Slovenia as pioneers of organic farming in Europe - To offer organic farmers advice and further training in the production and processing of organic foods - To develop direct marketing initiatives and cooperation with economic partners in marketing - To offer consumers information and to raise their awareness - To link and coordinate all organic farming activities in the Alpine-Adriatic Region - To promote and support organic farming - To boost rural areas - To make the cross-border exchange of expert knowledge possible - To boost traditional processing and production methods

Education Advice Meeting - To boost the economy in the border regions and to promote economic cooperation with the EU candidate country Slovenia. - To motivate the target group of small and medium-sized enterprises to better prepare themselves for the new situation arising due to the eastward expansion of the EU. - To provide on-the-spot further training opportunities and expert-led events for, in particular, businesses and staff from the South Carinthian area.
