  1. Understanding the Factors That Affect the UV Cure Rate Every assembly process involves multiple steps, but not every step presents the same level of difficulty. By automating the liquid dispensing and enhancing the speed of liquid drying process, you can minimize waste, ensure quality and increase productivity in your manufacturing unit. UV curing systems cure inks, adhesives and coatings in seconds upon exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light. UV curing system initiates a photochemical process in which high-intensity ultraviolet light is used to instantly dry fluids. This process renders a durable, high-gloss finish with excellent abrasion resistance. With UV curing process, coatings and adhesives form high-strength bonds with plastics and other substrates such as polycarbonate, PVC, metal, glass and ceramic. However, there are several factors that govern the cure rate of fluids which include: 1. The Photoinitiator is a compound that undergoes a photoreaction on absorption of UV light. The function of photoinitiator is to act as energy absorber to initiate the UV curing process. The exact ratio of Photoinitiator: Resin is essential for successful initiation of curing process. 2 2. The intensity of UV energy UV light is produced from the mercury vapor lamps. The light intensity in the range of 240 nm-270 nm and 350-380-nm helps in the rapid curing of the different fluids being used. If intense spectrum of light is not used during the curing process, drying will take time and you will not get the perfect finish in your products. 3 3. The thickness of the Fast cure time allows for lesser use of energy and greater productivity. The thickness of the fluid to be cured also affects the cure rate. UV curable resins must be coated to thin thickness covering large surface area to decrease the curing time. If the thickness is greater than 0.01-0.020 inches, then the resign will have a high degree of unsaturation, causing performance flaws. 4. Premixed p If you buy pre-mixed form of photoinitiator and resin from your material supplier, then it can also affect the cure rate due to possibilities of impurities. You can buy meter mix dispensing system Understanding the Factors That Affect the UV Cure Rate of Inks and C of Inks and Coatings oatings 1.
