  3. Law of conservation of energy Energy cannot be created or destroyed but can be transferred from one form to another.

  4. Thermal Energy • Thermal (heat) energy: The internal energy of a substance due to the movement or vibration of its atoms or molecules. (heat)

  7. Conduction • The transfer of energy by direct contact.

  8. Convection • The transfer of energy through fluids.

  9. Radiation • The transfer of energy through empty space.

  19. Kinetic Energy • Light energy- Energy that is transmitted in the form of (electromagnetic) radiation (light).
