  4. STAAR-A Accommodated version of STAAR Online assessment with embedded accommodations Same rigor as STAAR Students can graduate on MHSP, RHSP, or DHSP Can take combination of tests

  5. Cognitive lab 67 elementary, middle, and high school students All ability levels and all disabilities (LD, ED, VI, OHI, etc.) taking STAAR modified Subjects: Grade 4 reading and mathematics Grade 7 writing prompt Grade 8 science and social studies English I reading English I writing Algebra I

Important Dates June 2014 Focus Group topics: *eligibility criteria for STAAR A *changes to accessibility panel *time limits Finalized testing calendar Fall 2014 Updated ARD committee training for assessment decisions *amendment ARDs must be held in fall if student will participate in STAAR A. Allowable testing accommodations posted *Current allowable testing accommodations apply through December 2014 Eligibility criteria Tutorials *grade level clusters (3-5, 6-8, EOC) and multi-subject ARD resources

Reminders TAKS October 2014, TAKS will become an online test only TAKS Accommodated no longer available ARD committee should determine accommodations based on the 2010-2011 Accommodations Manual EOC ARD committee determines if a student continues testing OR determines no further testing is necessary based on the instruction the student is receiving STAAR Modified Only raw scores will be reported for US History since standards will not be set Released tests – August 2014 Grades 3-8 mathematics Grades 6 and 8 reading Grades 5 and 8 science Grade 8 social studies Algebra I Biology English I and II U.S. History Grades 3,4,5 and 7 reading (partial release)* Grades 4 and 7 writing (partial release)* *no item level analysis STAAR Alternate TETN in early to mid September
