  2. Motion • When an object is in motion, it’s position changes • Change along a straight line, curve, arc, back n’ forth • Motion diagrams are used to study motion • Series of images of a moving object that records its position after equal time intervals

  3. Motion diagrams • If the change in position is larger, subject is speeding up • If the change in position is smaller, subject is slowing down • If the change in position is constant, subject is moving at a constant speed • Motion Diagram

  4. Particle Model • Motion diagram that replaces a subject with a dot • Ignoring external motions (arms, legs, head) • Only focusing on center mass of substance
