  5. Library SetupOrder • 1. Host에 Scsi Cable연결& Library Power On (11번 Slide참조) • 2. Library Inventory 종료 후 Media Import (11번 Slide 참조) • 3. OS상에서의 St Driver & Ultra3 Patch확인, Patch(6번Slide 참조) 4. Tape Device생성 • 가. OK mode : OK> boot –r • 나. MultiUser Mode : # reboot -- -r or #drvconfig;tapes;(Online Rebuild) • 5. OS상에서의 Device생성 확인 • 가. #luxadm inq /dev/rmt/테잎순서or • # /dev/rmt/밑에 device생성되었는지 확인 • 나. Netbackup or NetWorker상에서 changer & tape확인 #sgscan –v changer;sgscan –v tape (Netbackup Utility) #inquire (Networker Utility) 6. ST Driver Patch Required • Scsi Type에 맞는 HBA Card장착 • Ultra3 SCSI(LVD) 160m/s : X6758A • Ultra2 SCSI(LVD) 80m/s : X2222A • Ultra Differential(HVD) 40m/s : X6541A • Ultra Differential Fast/Wide(HVD) 40m/s : X6749A(EOL) • Device Server쪽에 current version st.conf 등록 • Version별 Patch Name • Solaris 2.6 : 105847 • Solaris 7 : 107460 • Solaris 8 : 108725 • Solaris 9 : 13277 • LVD tape drive는 Solaris 7, 이하 버전 지원못함 • Device Server쪽에 Ultra3 patch(Ultra 3 Scsi일 경우) • SUNWqus.tar.Z [66K] SUNWqusx.tar.Z [68K] • SUNWqusu.tar.z [3K] SUNWqusux.tar.Z [4K] 2004 Loit Co., Ltd Storage Business Dept. 1 Team

Performance Tunning • HBA의 최대 속도와 Library의 속도 확인 • X6758A(Ultra3 SCSI)의 경우 HBA속도 : 160m/s(Dual Port), 한 개 Port는 Maximun 80m/s지원 • LTO2 Drive(초당 30m/s)지원 • L8 Library의 경우 Robot과 Drive가 같은 Port를 사용하므로 X6758 한 개 Port만으로도 드라이브 속도를 충분히 소화할수 있음 • Drive가 여러 개인 경우 / Robot Scsi Port가 분리된 경우(L25/L100/L180) • HBA의 한 개 Port의 Maximun Speed와 드라이브 속도 체크 • Ex) Drive가 3개인 경우 • Library쪽 port는 Maximum 4ea(Robot 1ea / Drive 3ea) • Robot 3ea를 Jumping할 경우 90m/s를 지원해야 함 • 따라서 X6758의 경우 80m/s밖에 지원이 안되므로 나머지 port를 사용하여 Library쪽에서두개의 Line을 사용하는 것이 바람직함 • (Robot+Drive1ea = 1개 channel / Drvie2ea = 1개 channel) • Robot에 연결된 Scsi Fail시 Drive작동이 전혀 불가하므로 가능하면 Redundancy차원의 Scsi Cable을 분리하여 잉여 드라이브를 사용 권장 2004 Loit Co., Ltd Storage Business Dept. 1 Team

Connect Library to the HOST • Cabling Diagram • Single SCSI BUS • HBA Card의 속도가 Drive 2ea를 지원하고 한 개 Port만 사용시 • Two SCSI BUS • 분리된 HBA Card or Port를 사용하여 속도 & Redundancy 고려 • Three SCSI BUS • Drive, Robot을 전부 분리, HBA Card or Port를 사용하여 속도 & Redundancy 고려 2004 Loit Co., Ltd Storage Business Dept. 1 Team

Hardware Installing Order • Drive Installing • Tape Labeling • Unpacking L25 Base / Drive / Tape • HVD / LVD Type 고려하여 Drive installing(Max 2ea) • Tape Barcode Labeling • 쓰기방지탭 조정 • Left : Enabled • Right : Write-Protected • 필요시 Management Card 추가 장착 • Write Protect Switch Setup 2004 Loit Co., Ltd Storage Business Dept. 1 Team

Hardware Installing Order • Remove magazine & Inserting Tapes • L25 PowerOff시 : 펜을 이용하여 release button을 누른후에 Magazine 분리 • Power On시 : LCD Pannel Key조작을 이용하여 Main-Mags-Release 사용 • Labeling된 Tape을 Magazine에 삽입한다(상하주의, 강제삽입 금지) • Tape 분리시 : Cartridge retaining latch를 누른 상태에서 분리 • Cleaning Tape : L25 Magazine 빼낸 후 안쪽의 Fixed Slot에 직접 삽입 2004 Loit Co., Ltd Storage Business Dept. 1 Team

  12. Powering Up the Library • Connect L25 Library to AC Power • Power ON • Initializing을 통해 자동 inventory및 Self Test실행 • 완료시 GUI에 Drive / Slot별 Media Status 출력 • 각 GUI Screen의 하단에 5개 Button label로 조작 • Library run Post-On-Self-Test(POST) 2004 Loit Co., Ltd Storage Business Dept. 1 Team

Disabling Unused Drive Bays • Using the GUI Buttons • 사용하지 않는 Drive Bay Setup • Main GUI -> Press Menu -> Press Config • Unused drive bay에 highlight될때까지 up, down key로 조작후 Press Select • Press Down Button Until Disabled • Setup완료후 main screen으로 돌아가지 않으면 NVRM에 저장되지 않는다 • Setting이 제대로 인식되기 위해 반드시 Library를 Reboot한다 2004 Loit Co., Ltd Storage Business Dept. 1 Team

Library Features • Front Panel • Graphical User Interface(GUI) • 라이브러리 상태 정보, 라이브러리 메뉴를 액세스 할수있게 해줌 • Library Setting값의 View & Change, daemonstration programs의 구동, diagnostic tests • Magazine door buttons • Mags option을 사용하여 Unlocked magazine을 열때, Power-Off & magazine Open시 사용 • Light Emitting Diode(LED) • Green LED : 호스트 채널로부터 액세스 가능하도록 Full Operational & Ready상태 • Green LED Flash : Ready상태에서 NOT Ready상태로 변환되는중 • Power-On-Self-Test시 • Magazine Release상태일 경우 • 특정 menu Item access시 • Red LED : Library Error 2004 Loit Co., Ltd Storage Business Dept. 1 Team

  17. Library & Drive & Inventory Info. • Main GUI -> Press Quick View -> Press Library or Drive or Inventory • Modelaud / Code Revision, Scsi ID 기타 정보 확인 • Library가 L100이상이거나 Stack Link인 경우는 Level button을 이용하여 각단계별 Inventory확인 2004 Loit Co., Ltd Storage Business Dept. 1 Team

Release Magazine & Drive Power • Magazine을 분리하기 위해 Library On 상태에서 실행 • Main GUI -> Press Mags -> Release Magazine창에서 • Left / Right / Both중 Open시킬 Magazine 선택, select • 전면 Magazine door button누른 후 Magazine 분리, 작업 • 완료후 Re-Lock • Main GUI -> Press Quick View -> Drv Pwr • Power-On, Off시킬 Drive Select • 해당 Drive highlishted되면 Up, Down button으로 현재 Setting 변경 • Tape Drive Hot-Swapping에 주로 사용 2004 Loit Co., Ltd Storage Business Dept. 1 Team

Moving Tape Cartridges • Main GUI -> Press Menu -> Press Move -> Move Cartridge FROM • Up, Down키로 이동시킬 미디어를 선택한후 Select Key Press • ->Move Cartridge TO에서 이동시킬 Slot or Drive에 커서 위치시키고 Select • ->Confirm Move Cartridge로 최종 확인 • 완료시 : Moving Cartridge…. Please Wait 출력후 Move Cartridge FROM GUI Displayed again • Press Back button • Press Main button 2004 Loit Co., Ltd Storage Business Dept. 1 Team

  20. Scsi History & Library Statistics • Main GUI -> Press Menu-> Press Service -> Press Stats • -> Library or Drive or Scsi History중 택 1 • 날짜 또는 시간별 SCSI Bus Command history상태 / Library, Drive Detail Statistics 확인 2004 Loit Co., Ltd Storage Business Dept. 1 Team

Changing the Library Configuration • Changing the Baud Rate Setting • Serial Diagnostics port 접속을 위한 baud rate Control • Main GUI -> Press Menu -> Press Config -> Press Up & Down -> Select baud rate -> Press Select -> up & Down, select desired Baud Rate • Setting the Time & Date • Library Time & date 설정 • Main GUI -> Press Menu -> Press Config -> Press Up & Down -> Select Time or Date -> Press Select -> up & Down, select correct date, time • Changing the AUTO-Clean Setting • Default Setting -> Disabled, Hardware적으로 적정 시점에 Cleaning할수 있도록 Setup(권장) / Backup S/W의 clean setup 사용시보다 관리 용이 • Main GUI -> Press Menu -> Press Config -> Press Up & Down -> Select Auto-Clean -> Press Select -> up & Down, select Enabled 2004 Loit Co., Ltd Storage Business Dept. 1 Team
