Brain Breaks • Spoken voice – boom chicka boom, rock you, AEIOU (alters dynamics, style, speed) • Singing voice – ABC, Shalom, Sin je (simple, few words, focus on pitch, tone and togetherness) • Body position – midline, screw up and release, up and down (body control/position) • Breathing – count, blow, pant, control, hold (oxygen, control of breathing and focus) • Bodies – stretch, do as I do, Bonnie, rhythm (blood flow, oxygen, enjoyment and focus)

Context and Relevance • It has to mean something to the children • Should link to a theme, topic or concept • Different languages or cultures • Go with pupil music interests • Suitable for age group and skills • Various genres and styles • Use as a tool to deliver your other curriculum aims, not focus on music skills • Catchy, yet simple!
