  1. THROUGH MY EYES Klára Kubáňová Language course in České Budějovice

  2. All of a sudden... • I enrolled for the fourteen-day course of English conversation in Polyglot language school (in ČeskéBudějovice) during my summer holidays after accidental perusing sales booklets in the bus.

  3. Everything went so smoothly... • I was so surprised how the arrangements went fast and without any bigger problems. • The entering proceeded by filling a question form, paying 3.500 CZK and then I had to wait if my course is going to start or not. • Fortunately the sufficient number of interested persons joined the course so I was looking forward to attending it. • I have to say my choice of the lessons was not a failure, which often happens.

  4. Agenda... • We convened at nine o'clock at the classroom - me, another two girls and our teacher. • The great advantage was that our teacher was a native speaker from California living in the Czech Republic that time. • And one more advantage - we were only three students in the class. • The school was equipped very well; there was also a man-made blackboard and dictionaries (only English or English-Czech ones). • Our teacher, Brad, was a thirty-year-old guy who had piercing and a tattoo hand so I wasn't worried about saying some rubbish or anything wrong. He was a typical American. • He always brought three or four paper sheets to us, each with different theme. • Themes were various - we learnt from eagles, whales and seasons to people's characters and USA history. We also wrote a test which was relatively difficult, but Brad didn't mind our mistakes.

  5. Final words... • I think - though I was studying four hours a day in the summer time, it wasn't wasted time. And I also think the fee was reasonable. So if you're "stuck for bobbins", take the summer language course! I can only recommend it.
