  2. Overview • Sept 2010 to June 2012 • Engineering • Engineering Systems • work towards accreditation of HND in Engineering Systems • Support Via Anniesland VLE • Engagement with Employers • Support Workshops in Alexandria through college staff, VLE, Engineering and Quality groups

  3. Three achievements • Accreditation of HND Engineering Systems • Local Employer Engagement • New VLE materials • Potential new Business • Enhanced Quality Procedures

  4. One challenge (there was more than one) • Staffing. • Social & Economic Circumstances. • Popular Perception – Technician/Vocational Qualifications have lower esteem. • Quality, Progression & Standards – Global challenges. • Improving and Sharing Teaching Resources between colleges in a global context. • Employer Engagement.

  5. Two benefits (Again more than one) • Raising the profile of HN qualifications out-with Scotland • Increased awareness in changing circumstances and demands of industry • Improved Teaching Practices • Increased contact with Certifying Authorities. • Improved participation in College within support networks • Increased use of VLE opportunities • Increased stakeholders involvement
