  2. THANK YOU On behalf of the MapleBrook Soccer Association Board of Directors, staff, coaches, and trainers thank you for your years of service. Please accept the gifts in front of you as a small token of appreciation for the time you have given to lead our MPB teams off the field. KEY DATES • April 11 State Cup Paperwork Due to MYSA • April 11 MYSA online presentation sent to coaches and primary team manager • April 25 Last date for league reschedules • April 28 MYSA League play begins • May 30 thru June 1 – MPB Tournament • May 31 Team photos • Early June Registration opens for Summer 2014 • June 19 Deadline to register for State Tournament • July 9 MYSA League play must end for U11-U19 • July 10 All league scores reported to MYSA • July 12-17 MYSA State Qualifier games • July 17 League play must end for U9-U10, PR • July 20-26 MYSA State Tournament • July 21 Last date for team expense reimbursement submittals. • July 26 – August 1: MPB Tryouts for Summer 2015

MYSA District Online Presentation • Replaces District meetings held in previous years. • Email with presentation link will be be sent to head coach and primary team contact (team manager). • Mediacom email addresses will not receive these emails • One individual per team must view presentation and pass a short quiz.

  10. MYSA Online Presentation Cont. After completing online presentation you will receive: • MYSA Team code and password: • Used for Rescheduling, Game reporting, Registering for playoffs • Tentative game schedule • League contact information • Field directions • These will be for original scheduled games only • Field locations/directions of all fields can be found on the MYSA website:

Home Game Rescheduling • PROCESS • Determine three (3) alternate dates with the away team. • Email Field Coordinator, using the template that appears when you click the link on the manager webpage of MPB website. • Field Coordinator will confirm back to you within 48 hours. • Reconfirm date with with the away coach/manager • Once the away team accepts the new date and field, MPB Coach/Manager must go to MYSA’s website to complete the online reschedule form instructions • Note: You will need your MYSA username and password • Away games are rescheduled by away team MYSA rule: All games must be rescheduled by April 25. Only other reschedules allowed will be acts of God.

Home Game Rescheduling Why 3 alternate dates? • The Field Coordinator needs to fit your reschedule between games that are already scheduled, and with consideration to referee availability.  Providing more options ensures your reschedule can be completed as efficiently as possible. Can I request a specific time for my reschedule? • You can request it, but it is not likely the request can be honored.  There are over 250 games scheduled on MPB fields.  Reschedules need to be scheduled with consideration to both field & referee availability.  How do I reschedule an AWAY game? • MPB Field Coordinator only reschedules MPB HOME games.  Please contact the coach/manager of the away team and they will facilitate the reschedule with their club contacts.

Game Reporting • All teams must report game scores via MYSA website • This includes U9 and U10’s • Member login is located in the upper right corner of any MYSA web page or use the direct link below • http://www.mnyouthsoccer.org/page/show/696421-mysa-member-login • You will need your team code and password • Summer 2014 game reporting deadlines • U11-U19 C1/C2/C3: July 9 • U9/10, and Premier Teams: July 17 • Any games not reported incur a fine to both teams

MSYA Fines - Paid by team account • Simple Forfeit : $100 • An attempt is made to play the game • Example – Player passes are forgotten, team shows up late. • Willful Forfeit: $200 • No attempt is made to play the game • Example – Team decides they do not want to play the game • Failure to report scores:$50 per team

MPB Outdoor Training Space MPB designated training space – Open starting May 4 • U9/U10 – Osseo Senior High • U11-U18 – Maple Grove Senior High Green space – non soccer fields No training is allowed on game fields Practice and game field closures are communicated via: • Coach/Manager email, Twitter, MPB website Teams that train on closed MPB training spaces, or on game fields, may lose their access to train on MPB training spaces and/or have fines imposed.

MPB Tournament • May 30- June 1 • Volunteer positions are posted for pre-tournament jobs • Tournament weekend positions will be posted Mid-May • Remind families that this is the biggest time for volunteers and few if any volunteer slots occur after tournament. • Please wear MPB apparel when volunteering

MPB Spirit Wear MPB Spirit Wear Clearance Sale • April 15, 5:30-10PM at Maple Grove Sports Dome • Clearance of prior years spirit wear • Cash or checks only New MPB Spirit Wear • Online sale begins late April • Orders delivered during MPB Tournament • Orders will be picked up by managers at check in for MPB tournament • Limited amount for sale during the MPB tournament

  22. End of Part I – Last thoughts… • Review team budgets and expenditures regularly • Last date for expense reimbursement submittals is July 21. Only exceptions are for teams that qualify and play in state tournament. • Managers are positive representatives of MPB • Welcome opposing teams, remember PACT, encourage others to be positive role models • Take with you tonight • MYSA Playerand Coach passes • Mailing labels for home game reporting are with your passes • Communicate to families any open items for held passes • Contact Ben for any questions regarding passes you did not receive. • Photo packets • Manager appreciation gifts

MYSA Online Presentation • MYSA Team Code and Password • needed for: rescheduling/game reporting/registering for playoffs • Tentative Game Schedule • Get your team conflict information ASAP • post to website when finalized – Both on calendar and upload schedule • All changes need to be made by April 25 • Field Directions • Verify with final game schedule, field listed on info received will only be those you play on. This can change with reschedule. All field locations are posted on MYSA website. • League Contacts

  25. Bring to game checklist • Player/Coaches passes • Competitive Match Report, with stamped self addressed envelope for home games. (Required and mandatory.) • 4 corner flags (home games) • Ejected Participant Report – U11 and older • First aid kit, ice packs • Emergency contact information • Medical liability forms • Discuss with coach who is responsible for bringing items

  26. Player/Coach Pass • Collect 1 X 1 inch photo of every player, coach and manager for pass. Glue to labeled area on pass. • Get a signature of every player, manager and coach on the back of the pass. • Signature must match name on pass • Laminate each pass • Self laminating pouches, Kinkos, home laminator, etc. • Passes must be completely sealed by laminate. • Passes kept together in last name alphabetical order with a ring.

After the Game • Collect all items brought to field • Coach and Player Passes • If you forget (referee does not return) • Home games – Contact Field/Referee Assignor as soon as you know you do not have them • Away games – contact opposing team, they can help you track down referee. • Corner Flags • Report Game score on MYSA website • Instructions received during online presentation • First team to enter score does reporting

MYSA Weather Policy • If lightning is within five miles, with or without hearing thunder, the game(s) or practice(s) should be suspended and shelter sought.  (A rough guideline is to measure the time between the lightning flash and hearing the corresponding thunder. If it is 30 seconds or less, seek shelter.) • Games are to be adjusted as the heat index rises: • Mandatory water breaks • Go to quarters • Shorten the games • In cold weather, players should be allowed to dress in appropriate clothing. • MYSA Weather Policy: http://www.mnyouthsoccer.org/page/show/692946-mysa-weather-policy

  33. Field Closures • Field closures are determined by the owner of the fields. City of Maple Grove for MPB fields. • MPB Field closures/weather cancellations can be found at the following link after 4PM on weekdays. • http://www.maplebrooksoccer.com/page/show/282362-weather-status • MPB will tweet when our home fields are closed. • Contact opposing team if MPB fields are closed • If no field closure or weather cancellation both teams must be at the field or game will be forfeited. • Home games cancelled for weather/field closure? • Home team must reschedule with field assignor
