Spring/Summer Newsletter 2012 MetLife Rancho Mirage A Financial Planning Division What’s most important to us however, is that over 120 individuals and families have entrusted their financial future and security to us. We work very hard to earn this trust. We believe that everyone has the right to financial security. With the proper planning, tools and products in place, each of our clients can sleep soundly at night...because they can see the invisible! We have been busy! See what we have been up to!!! Welcome to our Spring/Summer Newsletter! Your team at MetLife Rancho Mirage loves this time of year, as it always falls near our business anniversary. March 2012 marks our 3rd full year of presence in Rancho Mirage! No better comment than Jonathan Swift’s thought on vision, which sums up the last 3 years for us. In Just 36 months, with a simple yet extremely clear vision to create a unique concierge financial services firm, maximizing our individual skills, talents and gifts, we have grown over $50 million in Assets Under Management. Additionally, we are one of the fastest growing practices in the Pacific Southwest Region, Western with MetLife. “Vision is the art of seeing the invisible” ~ Jonathan Swift Professional Development & Education Chartered Advisor for Senior Living – CASL Update. We continue to keep up on our 2 year advanced studies as both Marlo and Jana have passed Financial Planning for Seniors. Marlo passed the rigorous Estate Planning exam in December, and both Marlo and Jana are currently studying for the Investment Planning Exam later this Summer. Marlo and Jana were both asked to speak at the MetLife Top Producers Meeting in Temecula, CA in January on the topic “How To Create A Successful Partnership”, as it seems we are setting the gold standard for team building in the Southern California area. Marlo recently returned from an Executive Communication Facilitation course in New Jersey, where she attended a MetLife sponsored national coaching program to refine her teaching and group facilitation skills. This allows us to offer comprehensive retirement planning classes to MetLife corporate clients and executives, as well as colleges, universities, professional organizations and small businesses in our region. We will be able to reach out further into the community to help educate and empower more people to take control of their financial lives. Furthermore, in order to continue to provide exceptional advice and service and due to the growing complexity surrounding investment, retirement, tax, and estate planning issues facing our Domestic Partner clients, Marlo is studying to take the ADPA Accredited Domestic Partner Advisor exam this summer.

  2. Team MetLife Rancho Mirage Meet and Welcome Sarah Myers – Personal Assistant and Personal Financial View Account Manager. With our continued commitment to the “Exceptional Client Experience” we hired the 5th member of our team in February. Sarah comes to us with a background in insurance brokerage, loan sales and non-profit event management. Sarah’s role will be improve and facilitate client communications, help plan and organize our seminars and client events, as well as manage the Personal Financial View website and vault services. Sarah is the mother of two young boys, and cinched the position when asked, “what is your proudest professional experience?” She answered, “Closing 40 loans in 30 days on my own, after my assistant quit, only four days following the birth of my first son.” We have no doubt she is up to the challenge! Personal Financial View Update Our current pilot program launching our new Client Website, Vault and Financial Advisory Services has taken off. We have had a tremendous response from our clients and expect it to greatly enhance our ability to provide timely and accurate real-time advice. Our Clients will be able to see their entire their financial picture at all times, as well as getting organized and STAYING organized. We are discussing this new service during our client reviews, but please do not hesitate to call our office in advance for further information. Tid Bits We are staying active in our community as Jana serves on the Mission Hills Golf Committees, Mission Hills Women’s Golf Association and is our official Thursday night pickle ball coordinator. Marlo was recently invited to join the Mission Hills Long Range Planning Committee, is thoroughly enjoying her monthly Coachella Valley Leadership days learning about the Valley Art & Entertainment at the McCallum Theatre, and all about the future of news, marketing and social media with a day spent at The Desert Sun. Special Events • event offered once a month at Mission Hills Country Club, the third Tuesday of every month from 4:00pm – 5:30pm. • Each month we will bring in expert speakers from the community to discuss a wide variety of hot topics on safety, travel, health, financial, social and general well-being. • Sample topics may include travel tips, avoiding identity theft, making smart social security & Medicare decisions, special needs financial planning topics for domestic partners, suddenly single, club fitting tips, local real estate market updates, owning gold, understanding annuities….. • Please join us for our first few events and bring a friend or two! • May 15th – Club Fitting Workshop – Special Guest Monica Stratton – Carlsbad Golf. 2:00 – 3:30pm. • See our website for dates of additional upcoming events. • www.MetLifeRanchoMirage.com • Mark your calendars! • 3rd Annual Healthy Living Event – Yappy Hour!
