  1. Directions: • Save locally to your drive • Edit to fit the needs of your classroom and rules • Print & post all directions in one visible area, such as above your white/chalk board • Re-post in a fitting size on/near the object in question for the direction

  2. ENTERING THE CLASSROOM • Go directly to your seat • once in, no leaving • Keep voices low • Get materials ready • Get homework out • Open text book • Follow instructions on the board or screen • Work on bell ringer

  3. ENTER & EXIT (NOT passing period) • Knock on the door • Present pass to teacher • Sign the “In and Out Log” in the appropriate place • first & last name • correct times • correct destination • 5 minutes only – beyond that is “excessive tardy” • Place allpasses in holder

  4. TARDY • Sign “In & Out Log” • put any pass in holder • Do not talk to teacher or students • Go to your seat and get into the lesson • See teacher at pre-dismissal

  5. THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE • Stop what you are doing • No talking, unless reciting the Pledge • You may stand or sit • You have the right to refuse to Pledge Allegiance, but you do not have the right to disrespect those who do

  6. CHANNEL ONE & BLOOM SCENE • Stay in seat – sit up • Clear desk • not homework time • No talking

  7. GREETER Designated greeter only will greet any adult who visits the classroom. Greet will only open the door after teacher indicates it is OK. • Quietly, walk up to the visitor(s) & say: • Welcome to Mr./Mrs. ________ Class • My name is ___________. • The objective for today is _______________. (check the board or student notes and read off objectives) • Wait for any questions from the visitor(s). • Quietly, sit back down.

  8. LECTURE • Stay in seat – sit up • Clear desk • Have notebook and pen/pencil ready for notes • Raise hand and wait to be called on to speak

  9. STUDENT/GROUP ASSIGNMENTS • Stay in seat, unless otherwise instructed • Listen to and read all directions • Complete the assignment • Turn in to bin

  10. VIDEO/PRESENTATION • Stay in seat – sit up • No talking • Only assignment or notebook on desk • Watch and listen • Raise hand with any questions

  11. DISCIPLINE CARDS • Place card in correct location before class begins • Report to teacher at pre-dismissal • REMEMBER: cards are the student’s responsibility

  12. CLASS MATERIALS Pencil sharpener, lotion, hand sanitizer, markers, highlighters, colored pencils, etc… • LOOK: to see if anyone else is up • QUIETLY: go directly to the materials needed • BORROW/USE: what is needed • RETURN: quickly and quietly to your seat

  13. HALL PASSES • One student out at a time • Is it an emergency? • WAIT until assignment is finished • WAIT until end of lecture or video • ASK quietly • Follow “Enter & Exit” procedure May I use the bathroom?

  14. P.A. ANNOUNCEMENTS • Stay in seat – sit up • Clear desk • not homework time • No talking

  15. LINING UP • Push in chairs • Take all valuables • Wait at door in a line until teacher signal • No talking • Last out – turn off light and close door • Follow teacher – stay together

TESTS & EXAMS • Stay in seat – don’t talk • When signaled, put name in correct place and begin • Do not open test until all are passed out • Keep your eyes on your own paper • Raise hand and wait for teacher if anything is needed – no talking! • Keep test and wait for time to be called – remain silent!

  17. QWIZDOM EXAMS • Follow Test/Exam rules • Turn on remote – “menu” • Enter student ID number – “send” (may need to be done twice) • Raise hand immediately if there are any issues • Do not open test until all are passed out • Keep remote & wait – remain silent! “Send”

  18. DISTRICT ASSESSMENTS • Check name and ID on answer sheet • Write correct date, course name – teacher name, period • Pencil only • Wait for teacher’s signal to begin • Remain silent • Remain seated • Test is finished when time is called

  19. PRE-DISMISSAL • See teacher if: • Tardy • Absent • You were told 2. If absent – check folder for work 3. If none of the above: • Clean up • Keep voices low • Stay seated • Wait for dismissal Pre-dismissal

  20. DISMISSAL • Teacher will dismiss class – not the bell • Push in chairs • Walk, don’t run • Keep voices low

  21. SUBSTITUTE TEACHER • Follow all classroom rules and directions as normal • NO PASSES • Do all assignments as given • Turn in all assignments at dismissal, complete or not

  22. SUSTAINED SILENT READING (SSR) • Take out appropriate materials to read • Stay in seat – sit up • No talking • Turn in assignment and/or materials at the end of the 30 minutes

  23. Recycle Bin Paper only Don’t throw paper or “shoot a basket”

Fire Drill Remain calm Proceed to the exit matching the number above the classroom door Stay with your teacher as you exit Stay with your teacher – cross the street Stay with your teacher – they need to take attendance Stay with your teacher – wait for the “all clear” Your teacher will escort you back into the building – go directly to class.

  25. Tornado Drill Remain calm and quiet Proceed to the area indicated on Emergency poster Sit with back to wall knees to chest face covered by knees hands with interlaced fingers protecting back of neck Remain silent in this position until “all clear”

  26. Lockdown Remain calm and silent Move away from windows and doors Refrain from using electronic devices Wait for “all clear”

  27. The next sign is specific for an Absent Work folder and should be posted directly on the folder. You can adjust directions for you but in your class the only difference for your signs should the class name, period, and maybe graphics. 
