2. T- Mon Server T-Mon server T-Mon Server is developed for monitoring and managing an UPS that is connected to a computer via RS232. The minimum required equipments are: 1 PC Win 95/98 – NT or Win2000 operating system. 1 UPS 1 RS232 connection cable. The connection between the UPS and computer has to be as shown in picture1

PACK 19 Specifications: • UPS monitoring: Input and output voltages, output frequency, load %, battery voltage in all models, in some models (T300) • input currents, charging current, UPS cabinet temperature. • Possibility of monitoring all the alarms that will occurs on the UPS and will saves them in time and date format • UPS Management: • - Battery test (only in USP’s that has the hardware) • - Sound on-off (all types) • - Weekly scheduling of USP shutdown and start-up (all types) • - It provides to save the selected items data log in a selected time interval and shows in a table. • - It provides to monitor on-line the selected item data and shows in a graphic mode. • - It is possible to monitor the UPS with a dial-up modem that will be connected to the UPS from a remote computer with a dial-up modem. • - In case that Tmon server computer is connected to the Internet it can send e-mail to the predefined e-mail address about the occurred alarm messages. • - It can send an alarm message to a pager through the dial-up modem. • - T-Mon server software will communicate with T-Mon Client and will give the UPS and battery status to the clients on the LAN. • - You can separate the clients on the LAN in 2 groups and shutdown one of the groups earlier and it will give a longer back-up time to work with minimized users. • - It is possible to make a soft SNMP agent and than your system will be monitored from different operating systems on the Ethernet network. • - WAN management via T-Mon Admin. You can monitor and manage all the UPS’s, which are connected to the network (LAN or WAN) with T-Mon Server. • - It is possible to monitor a remote UPS on the LAN with a second license of T-Mon Server from another computer.

6. Client management All clients uses IP address for communication so the names of clients are IP address. Client group management is as followed : Clients are organized as two groups the battery backup time of clients groups are seperate. Go to File menu and select TMON server setting subitem for setup group backup times. A client can be move beetween groups by using arrow buttons ,after defining groups click on diskette button and save group information to disk. At the next startup TMON SERVER will use group information. The Local IP window shows the TMON SERVER local IP address ,type this address to all clients. ? button updates the client connection list ,if the color of address is white this means that the related client is not connected ,if the color is green the related client is using TCP/IP protocol ,if yellow the related client is using SNMP protocol.

7. T-MON SERVER Demo FunctionTo test TMON SERVER functions a demo screen is added on TMON SERVER program ,Click demo TAB on screen the following screen comes :

TMON SERVER event log systemProgram saves all events and alarms to disk with their time and date,the last events are located at the green window but to list all recorded events on green window is impossible . TMON SERVER event calender system gives easy following for events on calender.. Click on File menu and select event calender subitems. On day boxes you can see important events with different colors. If click on day box daily events locates on white window. Left and right arrows moves the calender to next and previous months.

9. Graphical futuresIf click on graphic menu ,an X,Y axis based graphic comes to screen. And selected parameter variations can be followed on screen. The parameter can be select by the user ,double click on black screen the function select screen comes ,for selection double click on parameter.Sampling rate can be select 1 means 1 sample and 1 pixel on screen. For starting drawing click on arrow button.

10. UPS CONTROL OptionsTMON SERVER program is arranged as interactive software this means that the program can take data from UPS and sends commands to UPS. Click on Control menu and see control options. These options can be change according to the UPS model. If click on control option command goes to UPS ,follow report window for response. If UPS is at remote site access is limited if your IP address is not given as administrator. If you are not an administrator only read access is permitted.

11. DATA loggingClick on File menu and select Data log subitem for opening Data logging window. During program run some selected parameters can be recorded on a list with their date and time. The data record interval can be change from the bottom of the window. At the top of window the buffer folder and buffer file name is showned the last 1000 record is on memory but is the record number is bigger than 1000 records the old data moves to disk there is (;) seperator beetween data fields excell program can load DATALOG.TXT file. If click on clear button all data on memory and disk will be deleted.

Parameter adding to data log list is easy ,double click on white list the function select window comes on screen double click to mark the parameter a (>) sign will be appeared at the left side of parameter this shows the related parameter is added on data log list. For unselect parameter re double click on it and clear (>) sign.

13. INSTALLED Programs informationTo see the license status of your TMON SERVER program click on Help menu ,select About TMON server subitem the following window comes on screen.All installed TMON programs will be showned at window.

TMON SERVER settingsFor settings screen click on File menu and goto TMON server settings subitemDefining messages :If click on the list at the following window you can edit broadcast message to clients white line is current editing line ,user can enable or disable if there is a check box at the front off message.

15. Access propertiesFrom remote TMON SERVER programs User can define 4 administrator for controlling the UPS . The white text box contains administrator’s IP address if a computer IP address is not absent in the list this computer only reads data from UPS can not control UPS ,Full access check box determines that the this IP address can use all control options (according to UPS type) user can enable or disable SNMP service from check box at the bottom of the window.

16. System settings :Some information about this UPS station can be define from this section this informations will be necessary during remote identification of this TMON SERVER program.UPS connection type determines the serial port which is used for UPS connection. 64 options is available serial ports and lock DEMO mode. İf demo is selected program runs in demo mode it ignores the UPS connection.

17. SHUTDOWN SETTINGSOn shutdown window LINE FAILURE alarm behavior of 2 client groups can be define ,group 1 applies the group1 shutdown type and group 2 applies group 2 shutdown type . On the figure 30 minutes battery bacup time is selected but for group 2 2 minutes backup time is selected. This means that group 2 client computers will shutdown after 2 minutes from LINE FAILURE event.But group 1 continues to work on for 30 minutes from batteries ,this programming system allows saving battery energy.If the user checks the UPS shutdown enable checkbox UPS will be turn off after system shutdown.Weekly periodical shutdown and start program can be made from this screen type start and shutdown times on table and check the Apply program checkbox for enable weekly program. Dont put two start or two shutdown side by side.

18. e-mail send function :TMON SERVERcan send e-mail during alarms to defined e-mail server and e-mail address. User must type all information to the related fields .

19. Pager code sending function :TMON SERVER can send defined number codes to the defined pager numbers at each alarm user can send codes to different pagers. Pager enable checkbox must be checked for pager code sending.Modem port selection is determines the modem port which is connect us to the telephone line pagers code must be dial at telephone line.

20. Some usefull imformation can be written in settings section ,click on utilities tab and type informations in the boxes.

21. Connecting to another TMON SERVERTMON SERVER program can connect to another TMON SERVER program with TCP/IP protocol ,the purpose of this connection to monitor and control the UPS from remote site. For connection select goto File menu ,click on UPS connection subitem the following window comes to screen. If the user wants to monitor local UPS check the Local UPS checkbox and click on apply button. If the UPS is at remote site type the remote TMON SERVER IP address in to the Remote UPS IP address box and click Apply button. During remote monitoring green log event window of TMON SERVER program will be clear ,because this window is reserved for local UPS.

22. ALARM filtersUPS alarms can be filtered by the user. User can define alarm event options.

23. ALARM windowIf UPS alarm occures an always on top window opens and gives the TMON SERVER message to user if the UPS is normal after alarm this window closes after 15 seconds.
