  1. 2020 Option Period Changes & Open Enrollment

  2. Deadline to submit Option Period forms is FRIDAY OCTOBER 25TH. Forms submitted after this date will not be accepted.

  3. Affordable Care Act • Every employee MUST complete an Option Period Enrollment/Change form. • If you are not making changes to your current plan selections, check “No Change” for all benefits, sign and date the back and return to the Annex.

  4. Please check “No Change” for every coverage type if you are not making any change to your current plan selections. There are five sections for review.

  5. Remember, EGID does not allow us to accept Option Period forms unless it has your signature and date and your spouse’s signature and date (when applicable). Forms sent to our office without all applicable signatures will be returned to the employee and could result in your changes being null and void if the form is not received back before Option Period closes on October 25th.

  6. Health Plan Changes • Blue Cross and Blue Shield of OK - BlueLincs HMO • Bariatric surgery is now a covered benefit with a $250 copay per day with a $750 maximum per admission • CDC-recognized Diabetes Prevention Program is now a covered benefit with a $0 copay for Omada Health

  7. Health Plan Changes • GlobalHealth HMO • There is no longer a separate physician cost-share for inpatient, outpatient and emergency room stays. • Hospital inpatient and mental health and substance abuse inpatient have increased to a $300 copay per day with a $900 maximum per admission. • Hospital outpatient has increased to a $300 copay in a preferred facility and an $800 copay in a non-preferred facility. • The emergency room copay has increased to $400 for the facility charge.

Health Plan Changes • GlobalHealth HMO • There is no longer a copay for maternity postnatal care. • A 30-day supply of preferred specialty drugs has increased to $200 and $400 for non-preferred specialty drugs • Bariatric surgery is now a covered benefit with a $300 copay per day with a $900 maximum per admission. • CDC-recognized Diabetes Prevention Program is a covered benefit with a $0 copay

Reminder If you are enrolled in the HealthChoice High or Basic Plan and wish to stay enrolled in that plan, you must complete the online tobacco-free attestation for Plan Year 2020 available at www.healthchoiceconnect.comby November 8th. If you do not complete the tobacco-free attestation or complete one of the reasonable alternatives, you will automatically be enrolled in the HealthChoice High Alternative or Basic Alternative Plan effective January 1st, and your annual deductible will increase by $250.

Let’s Do the Math • The State of Oklahoma agrees to pay the amount of the HealthChoice High Plan premium for every employee taking health insurance through the school regardless which plan you pick. • HC High Premium = $615.90 • Blue Cross Blue Shield of OK = $559.90 ($56.00 in your pocket) • HC Basic Premium = $487.36 ($128.54 in your pocket) • HC HDHP Premium = $422.26 ($193.64 in your pocket) • Global Health HMO Premium = $710.74 (costs you $94.84) • CommunityCare HMO Premium = $970.34 (costs you $354.44)

  15. Waiving Health Insurance • If you elect to waive health insurance through the school, the State of Oklahoma has agreed to pay • Certified teachers $69.71 per month • Support personnel $189.69 per month

Tips & Other Notes • Update your Beneficiary information often • EGID is currently holding over $2M in life insurance money that cannot be paid because no social security # was listed for the beneficiary and their contact information is outdated. If the beneficiary’s SSN is listed, they can find them!

  20. DEADLINE TO SUBMIT OPTION PERIOD FORMS IS FRIDAY OCTOBER 25TH. ALL FORMS RECEIVED AFTER THIS DATE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
