From IAP (April 2006) to Lyon (June 2007) • Presentation of VO-France at ASSNA meeting (December 2003) • First WG meeting just after the founding VO-France workshop (4-6 April 2005) • Parallel session during Obernai winter school (5-7 November 2005) • Joined ASSNA-ASOV workshop dedicated to TVO (5-6 April 2006) • goals: • Need to explain what is [not] Virtual Observatory • Need to understand numerical simulations/codes specificity • Need to see how a VO-compliant theoretical service could run and help to make science • Make an effort to adapt each others to different languages!   12. Euro-VO Data Center Alliance

Lemson) • aims at assessing the inclusion of theory data and services in the Virtual Observatory. • tackled by the TEG, which has yearly meetings and email discussions to establish a framework for the inclusion of Theoretical Astronomy Services in the VObs. • The TEG organizes a Workshop • Strong links with WP5 (VO ↔ GRID) H. Euro-VO DCA • “Theory” census: • theory specific questionnaire. the TEG questionnaire is not only directed at theory data centers, but is meant to gather feedback from astronomers (theorists *and* observers) in general on what they expect from a "theory VO". • send out questionnaire (end of June) • deadline end of September • TEG face2face meeting beginning October to interpret results and come up with proposals • write first draft of whitepaper, beginning of Dec 2007 to be discussed in ... • Theory workshop • with WP5-Grid in "month 17“ (January 2008) H. Review work on "theory in the VObs" so far: • whitepaper Lemson & Colberg • IVOA Theory interest group (TIG) • existing census results/inventory • examples of concrete services, data sets published online, and VO-like 2. Gathering requirements • How: theory specific questionnaire as contribution to Euro-VO DCA census (extend to IVOA TIG) + existing census results (if available) • Describe results of questionnaire • extract requirements from result • discuss what (if) is being done to address these 3. Proposals for actions to • IVOA • Euro-VO • VOTECH • DCA • FC • individual data centers 4.
