  1. His Life Fulfilled the History of Israel (or the History of Israel was a Type of the Life of Christ). Jesus

  2. Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. • Note: Few Christians realize the extent to which the Scriptures testify of Jesus. Many of the people, places, and objects of the Hebrew Scriptures are types of Christ, and tell of His mission and His character. This series of slides looks at just one aspect of this testimony; how in His earthly life Jesus lived out the history of Israel. John 5:39

  3. Exodus 4:22. And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD, Israel is my son, even my firstborn: • Matthew 3:16, 17. And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: 17And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. 5. Hosea 11:1 When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt. Matthew 2:15. And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son. Out of Egypt

  6. Hebrews 11:29. By faith they passed through the Red Sea… • Matthew 3:16. And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him. Through the Waters

And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no. • Matthew 4:1, 2. Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. 2And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. Into the Wilderness

  10. Exodus 20:13. Thou shalt not kill. Matthew 5:21,22. Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill… 22But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: The Law

  11. Exodus 20:14. Thou shalt not commit adultery. • Matthew 5:27,28.
