  1. What’s so Amazing about Grace? II JESUS ...beauty in a scandal ridden story!

  2. John 1:14 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:17 17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

  3. Matthew 1:1 1 The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham: The story of Grace; your story, starts with and will end with God. Abraham was a nobody until God came knocking, to make things beautiful!

  4. Matthew 1:2 2 Abraham begot Isaac, Isaac begot Jacob, and Jacob begot Judah and his brothers. Grace endures and uses the extreme difficulties in your story, just like these men’s stories to make things beautiful.

  5. Matthew 1:3-4 3 Judah begot Perez and Zerah by Tamar, Perez begot Hezron, and Hezron begot Ram. 4 Ram begot Amminadab, Amminadab begot Nahshon, and Nahshon begot Salmon. Grace looks past the shame and failure in your story to make things beautiful!

  6. Matthew 1:5 5 Salmon begot Boaz by Rahab, Boaz begot Obed by Ruth, Obed begot Jesse, Grace, as in Rahab’s case, looks past your reputation and misdeeds, opens the door, turns your story around and makes things beautiful!

  7. Matthew 1:5 5 Salmon begot Boaz by Rahab, Boaz begot Obed by Ruth, Obed begot Jesse, Grace, like in Ruth’s case, ignores your unworthy roots and ushers you into a new identity, a new beautiful story.

  8. Matthew 1:6 6 and Jesse begot David the king. David the king begot Solomon by her who had been the wife* of Uriah. Grace chooses you and rewrites your story, not based on your qualifications or credits but on God’s love. David was chosen above His brethren.

  9. Matthew 1:6 6 and Jesse begot David the king. David the king begot Solomon by her who had been the wife* of Uriah. Having been chosen, even when we completely mess up, Grace is there to mop up and keep working on your story, to make things beautiful.

  10. Matthew 1:7-11 7 Solomon begot Rehoboam, Rehoboam begot Abijah, and Abijah begot Asa.*8 Asa begot Jehoshaphat, Jehoshaphat begot Joram, and Joram begot Uzziah. 9 Uzziah begot Jotham, Jotham begot Ahaz, and Ahaz begot Hezekiah. 10 Hezekiah begot Manasseh, Manasseh begot Amon,* and Amon begot Josiah.

  11. 11 Josiah begot Jeconiah and his brothers about the time they were carried away to Babylon. At times we carry the weight of kings; responsibilities and burdens that none else can understand. Even then, Grace is writing an even more significant story than we can imagine.

  12. Matthew 1:12-15 12 And after they were brought to Babylon, Jeconiah begot Shealtiel, and Shealtiel begot Zerubbabel. 13 Zerubbabel begot Abiud, Abiud begot Eliakim, and Eliakim begot Azor. 14 Azor begot Zadok, Zadok begot Achim, and Achim begot Eliud.

  13. 15 Eliud begot Eleazar, Eleazar begot Matthan, and Matthan begot Jacob. Sometimes we may feel we are just making the numbers; lost, insecure, insignificant and in exile. But not so to Grace; we are still known by name and the story isn’t over yet!

  14. Matthew 1:16 16 And Jacob begot Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus who is called Christ. In due time, Grace shifts things from the natural to the supernatural; and while we are sure we don’t deserve, we are brought in, grafted in by God. He makes things beautiful in His time!

  15. How about you? What is your story? Can you imagine what it would be like after Grace is done rewriting it?
