A national coordination initiative, led by the Ministry of Environment • An executive secretariat for the national coordination effort, is placed within the Directorate for Civil Protection and Emergency Planning (DSB): • Provide status onclimateadaptationacrosssectors and administrative level • Assistinformationexchangebetweensectors and administrative levels • Contributewithadvice and guidance to local and regional planners, for examplethroughtheweb-portal • Web portal publishedin March 2009 National Programme

The National Platform A need to ‘interpret’ the research language and Climate Projections • A need to ‘translate’ the research language and Climate Projections • Guide: Climate Change Adaptation: • - Describes how to integrate climate • projections in different levels of planning – from general planning to zoning plans, RVA’s etc • Examples of such planning

Troms Project – Climate Service Centre • CSC: - Norwegian Meteorological Institute • - The Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research • - The Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate • Project Leader: The County Governor in Troms • 4 Municipalities in Troms participate • DSB - economic contribution and participation • The purpose: • Assistthemunicipalitieswithmapping, organizing and findingthe data needed • Provide more detailedknowledge to theClimate Service Centre, helpingthem to improvetheirproducts and service • Develop a Climateprofile for eachofthefourparticipatingmunicipalities, usingthismethod to generatesimilarClilmateprofiles for all Norwegianmunicipalities • Questionsasked: • Whatkindof data is neededondifferentlevels in planning? • Whatkindof data is available, and what is not? • Is reliable data available at all? • How to dealwithlackofnecessary data?
