  1. COMMON MESSAGE PROCESSOR (CMP) AND THE JOINT MESSAGE PREPARATION SYSTEM (JMPS) STANDARDS CONFORMANCE TESTING Jack M. Barro Software Engineering Center Email: jack.barro@us.army.mil DSN 992-5918 732-532-5918 24 January 2007

  2. CMP STANDARDS CONFORMANCE TESTING • The USA CE-LCMC Software Engineering Center (SEC): • Develops the CMP & JMPS Test Plans and Test Procedures • Schedules the CMP & JMPS certification testing • Directs and conducts the CMP & JMPS certification testing • Analyzes CMP & JMPS test results • Prepares Preliminary Trouble Reports • Prepares the CMP & JMPS Final Test Reports • Provides Final CMP & JMPS Test Reports to the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) for certifications • Obtains CMP & JMPS certifications from JITC

  3. SUMMARY • SEC processed 802 valid USMTF test messages and 111 scripted error USMTF test messages on CMP v 4.7.6.0 & JMPS v 4.7.6.0 • Processing valid test messages yielded the following results: • - CMP identified four valid test messages as invalid: • - three valid test messages were invalid due to message text errors • - one valid test message, MET.CF (F251), generated a "warning" message due to ambiguous Field Format Index Reference Number (FFIRN) information in Set MSTA field 2 • Processing scripted error messages yielded the following results: • - CMP identified 2 scripted error messages (BDAREP PHASE 2, D280 & RASREQ, D400) as valid due to structural notation anomalies.

  4. SUMMARY • SEC directed and conducted CMP v 4.7.6.0 & JMPS v 4.7.6.0 Standards Conformance Testing for conformance to the MIL-STD-6040, USMTF 2007 baseline, from 10 thru 13 October 2006 • CMP v 4.7.6.0 & JMPS v 4.7.6.0 was installed on Linux Enterprise 4.0, Solaris 8.0, Windows XP Professional, & Windows 2000 Professional operating platforms • No critical CMP or JMPS errors occurred during testing • SEC provided the Final Test Report to JITC on 8 DEC 2006 recommending certification for CMP v 4.7.6.0 & JMPS v 4.7.6.0 in compliance with the MIL-STD-6040 2007 USMTF baseline

  5. FUTURE TESTING • SEC will direct & conduct CMP v 5.0.0.0 and JMPS v 5.0.0.0, MIL-STD-6040 2007 USMTF baseline Standards Conformance Testing for CMP v 5.0.0.0 & JMPS v 5.0.0.0 installed on Linux Enterprise 4.0, Solaris 8.0, Windows XP Professional, & Windows 2000 Professional operating platforms from 1 thru 2 March 2007 • SEC will direct & conduct CMP v 5.0.0.0 MIL-STD-6017A VMF Standards Conformance Testing for CMP v 5.0.0.0 installed on Linux Enterprise 4.0, Solaris 8.0, Windows XP Professional, & Windows 2000 Professional operating platforms from 13 thru 16 March 2007
