Day 1 5/16/11 • We Created are chassis (the bottom of the cruiser) • First we used the large wheels and we got these test scores... • Large Wheel: 2 3/4 inches • 1) 430 cm ( curved ) • 2) 490 cm ( straight ) • 3) 500 cm ( pretty straight ) wobbly wheel • 4) 20 cm ( failure ) fixed the wobbly wheel • 5) 40 cm ( curved after 40 ) undid fixed wheel

Day 1 5/17/11 • We completely took apart the model and replaced the small wheels with large ones. • We adjusted the wheels. • Adjusted the axels. • We tested to see which side worked better as the front. • Today we found which side was the front, and decided how to get the straightest results.

  13. Day 3 On Day 3 we added are lever with pennies and string so now it can move on its own. Here is some of the data we recorded: 1)270cm 2)300cm 3)210cm 4)300cm 5)420cm 6)450cm

  14. Day 4 Today we didn’t really test except for when we added on a sail. But, Bishop did not like the idea of the sail so we had to take it off. Also we worked on improving how the string is wound up and how it is connected.

  17. Summary Over the past 5 days we have been building, testing, and improving our Gravity Cruiser. When testing our prototype we often came upon problems such as not following a straight line. We encountered this problem and fixed it by adjusting the wheels, axels and tightening tape and other lose pieces. After correcting these problems our Gravity Cruiser’s overall performance was better and we had a easier time reaching our goals.
