  2. Nursing pay • Most nursing staff are underpaid and many feel undervalued. • Pay isn’t everything but it helps. • It’s not just about the money ££, your terms and conditions matter too.

  3. Knowledge is power • Do you know what your contract says about your pay, termsand conditions? • Does your job description accurately reflect what you do? • Do you know how your pay compares to others?

  4. Know your value • Don’t minimise the impact your role and you have on your patients. • Realise your potential. • Delegate things you don’t need to do so you can do the things your patients need you to do. • Be your best advocate • Get help!

  7. National pay negotiations • GPs are private employers so don’t pay AfC, however • National pay is a benchmark you can refer to in negotiating your own pay, terms and conditions • Austerity is a choice that we should challenge. • Joint union ask is inflation plus lump sum
