  3. Course Outcomes… • Operate video camera’s • Learn and operate video editing software • Run a broadcast news station (The BBC) in which the whole school watches every day. Create Video: • Fox/CT news packages • PSA’s (public service announces) • Music video’s • Video Holiday Cards • Video School functions, plays, as well as sports

  4. Broadcast Journalism

Course Outcomes: • Prerequisite • Must pass Media Communications with a 70% or higher • Continue learning/perfecting/video editing software • Create more professional video’s including: • Intro’s and outro’s for the BBC • Public Service announcements • Fox/CT news stories • Documentaries • Restaurant and local business commercials • Music videos • Continue operating the BBC studio in a more real life atmosphere. • Video school events to be put on Public Television

  6. Advanced Media I

Course Outcomes: • Prerequisite • Must pass Broadcast Journalism with 70% or higher • Continue perfecting/experimenting with newer introduced video editing software such as Final Cut Pro • Continue to create and produce professional video’s including: • Documentaries • Restaurant and local business commercials • Short movies • Produce and direct the BBC studio • Help teach the beginning broadcast classes

Course Outcomes: • Prerequisite • Must pass Advanced Media I with 70% or higher • Must write a two page paper on why you want to take a 4th year of Broadcast Journalism/Media Communication and submit it to the teacher of the course to get permission. • Work with Comcast and outside resources in the broadcast field • Help teach Broadcast curriculum • Develop your own TV show • Run and be in charge of the BBC • Continue perfecting/experimenting with newer introduced video editing software such as Final Cut Pro • Continue to create and produce professional video’s including: • Documentaries • Restaurant and local business commercials • Short movies • Develop and run a fundraiser/business to create an income resource for your class • Peer teach younger students • You will need to have the attitude and time to spend many hours in and out of class to be successful

Course Outcomes… Manual Photography: • Operate 35mm SLR manual camera’s • Develop Negatives and create pictures in the dark room. • Learn basic camera and picture taking techniques: • Rule of thirds • Lighting • Different types of photography including Sports/action, nature, portrait Digital Photography: • Operate digital camera devices • Learn the basics of Photoshop • Implement Photoshop techniques to enhance your pictures • Develop Photoshop skill sets for print advertising • Design Magazine covers • Digital picture story telling

Course Outcomes: • Prerequisite • Must pass Photojournalism with 70% or higher • Continue perfecting/experimenting Photoshop techniques • Create a SHS school magazine • Produce usable journalistic stories for the public • Restaurant reviews • Advanced Photoshop Picture techniques: • Levitation photography • Masking Techniques • Product photography • Design and produce a calendar • Modeling photo shoots • Panoramic photography, etc.
