My Research Question • How do pioneers get their clothes and what were there clothes like?
What I Learned • People who lived in the wilderness wore buckskin. That's clothes made out of deer. • A sharp knife or a large pair of scissors was used to cut the wool from the sheep. The wool was washed to clean off the dirt and oil. The wool was pulled apart to pick out grass, straw, and burrs that were stuck to the wool. The wool was brushed to untangle it and get the knots out.
What I Learned • A spinning wheel was used to make the wool into yarn. Cloth was made by weaving the yarn together on a loom. Woolen cloth was sewn into dresses , coats ,shirts ,and pants. That’s the same things we wear.
