  31. Allah (swt) forbids Muslims to break their promises after they have confirmed them[Surah An Nahl 16: Verse 91]

  32. …..and made them testify concerning themselves, (saying): "Am I not your Lord?"- They said: "Yes! We do testify!“…[Surah Al ‘Araf 7: Verse 172]

  33. Yes, whoever fulfils his pledge and fears Allah much; verily, then Allah loves those who are Al-Muttaqoon (the pious ). [Surah Aal-e-’Imran: Verse 76]

  34. "Four traits; whoever possesses them is a hypocrite & whoever possesses some of them, has an element of hypocrisy until he leaves it: 1. The one who when he speaks, he lies. 2. When he promises, he breaks his promise. 3. When he disputes, he transgresses, and 4. When he makes an agreement, he violates it.[Agreed Upon]

  41. Expiation for breaking a promise Allah will not call you to account for what is futile in your oaths, but He will call you to account for your deliberate oaths: for expiation, feed ten poor persons on a scale of the average for the food of your families; or clothe them; or give a slave his freedom. If that is beyond your means, fast for three days. That is the expiation for the oaths you have sworn. [Surah Al-Ma-idah 5: Verse 89]

  46. If anyone does evil or wrongs his own soul, but afterwards seeks Allah's forgiveness, he will find Allah Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.  [Surah An-Nisa 4:110]
