  1. Finding Books

  2. There are over 10,000 books in Shaftesbury’s library. • Here’s how to find the one you want.

  3. The non fiction books start with the 000’s (Generalities) at the wall near the computers, and wrap their way around the wall, ending with 900’s (History) and Reference near the circulation desk. Fiction and graphic novels stand on their own on “spinners” and a shelf free from the wall.

  4. Great. But how am I supposed to find anything? First, you have to get to the library webpage. Get there by clicking the Library button on the school web page.

  5. Scroll down a bit, and on the right side of the screen, in the SideBar, you’ll find a button called “Library Catalogue”. Click that.

  6. Just type what you want to find, and click “search”.

  7. Once you get your results, you can put your favourites into a virtual bookbag by clicking the little squares beside the titles. When you’re done picking out your books, click “My Bookbag” to view your selections and print off a list.

  8. From the Bookbag page, just click Print to bring you to a printable page so you can find what you’re looking for.

  9. Now it’s your turn. Everybody’s got a hobby. Maybe you play guitar. Or sports. Or maybe you like to dance. Whatever you’re into, chances are there’s a book on that subject in the library. Find a book on the topic of your choice, and bring it to the circulation desk. The first five to take out a book get a prize! Ready? Set… go!
