  1. A Basic Overview About Super Xpert Storage Server Technology Here is a brief overview of some of the storage network technologies provided by Superexpert. www.superxpert.com

  2. Direct-attached storage The storage system is not attached to any network. This type of storage does not have to be limited only to the internal storage. There are some disk-enclosures which contain the hard disk drives are can be used externally for the storage purposes. They can even be attached to the Superblade Servers at SuperXpert. They can be the part of RAID as well as JBOD.

  3. JBOD storage JBOD stands for something casual and rather humorous – Just a Bunch of Disks. This system works in a different way though. The disks in this storage system are presented to any computer system as if they were its internal hard disks. They are mainly used to enhance the storage capacity of the different servers. They can also increase the storage capacity of the Superblade Servers at SuperXpert. The JBOD can be used to create a storage pool. Using the Storage Spaces technique, all the physical disks can be combined together and a storage pool can be created. JBOD are more cost-effective and usually more flexible.

  4. Network Attached Storage As the name suggest, these types of storage devices are connected to a network from where they are accessed by the other computers using the file share technology. While direct-attached is directly connected to a computer, the network-attached is connected to a network. Network-attached devices for storage usually support the Ethernet connection. There must be an administrator who can set the quotas for the disk, manage the disk space, make use of the snapshot technologies, and provide security. This type of storage can support a number of protocols such as CIFS and SMB.

  5. Storage Area Network SAN or storage area network is indeed a dedicated network and it lest the users share the storage. It also has the network storage capabilities but it differs with the network-attached storage in many ways. But network-attached is the storage attached to the network. On the other hand, SAN provides a completely different storage network altogether.
