  1. WHAT CONDITIONS DOES MEDICAL MARIJUANA TREAT Many people use medical marijuana dispensaries for treatment for various conditions. More than twenty five states have legalized medical marijuana to be used to treat medical conditions. Many other states are in the process of considering bills that would legalize medical marijuana as well, but with all this talk about medical marijuana, you may be wondering what it can

  2. actually be used to treat. Unfortunately, the Food and Drug Agency has not approved marijuana as treatment for anything because the Agency believes that there have not been enough studies to show its effectiveness in treating any medical ailment. One reason why there haven’t been more studies conducted is due to the fact that marijuana is considered by the United States Drug Enforcement Agency to be a Schedule 1 drug, in the same category as LSD, heroin and ecstasy. This classification means that on a federal level marijuana is considered as a drug that lacks medical value and is likely to be abused. Many people find it surprising that marijuana is considered as destructive and medical irrelevant as heroin. Despite the seemingly absurdity of it, this classification makes it difficult for researchers to conduct studies. They need to apply to a special license to do so. Some people wonder what the difference between medical and recreational marijuana dispensaries is For starter’s, medical marijuana typically requires a license to obtain while recreational marijuana is usually available to anyone in a given state so long as they are of a certain age. Medical marijuana may be engineered through certain strains and processes to be used for certain specific medical conditions, but other than that it’s pretty much the same as regular recreational marijuana although it can be stronger. Medical marijuana has been used to treat everything from Alzheimer’s disease to Glaucoma to nausea and pain to anxiety and depression. Certain strains of medical marijuana such as CBD have the positive benefits of marijuana without the THC, the chemical compound responsible for the “high” feeling. CBD oil has been used to treat children and others with epilepsy and seizures. Some people wonder why marijuana works in treating all these conditions. While the answer to that question is not really known for sure, scientists are pretty sure it has to do with cannabinoids, the active chemicals in marijuana. These cannabinoids are similar to chemicals that our bodies make or in some cases don’t make enough of and they are involved in everything from appetite to pain to memory. Content Source
