Getting Ready for Day 3 Session 2 Rigor of the CCSS • Materials: • Chart Paper • Markers • Reflection/Planning Forms • Preparation: • Prepare 4 charts with headings to indicate the 4 Criteria on the lesson review tool. Place the charts in the corners of the room. • Place markers at each chart. • Make sure you have a copy of the Reflection/Planning Form for each participant.

EEA Summer 2012 ELA Session OutcomesDay 3 Session 2 Participants will… • share ELA Project results • identify a professional development focus for this year • list possible professional learning activities for increased alignment to CCSS • reflect and plan school level professional development

  4. ELA Lesson Review Project • Text Complexity of the text used: • Quantitative • Qualitative, e.g., literary or informational • Reader and Task • Alignment of the lesson: • Rigor of the CCSS • Key Areas of Focus/Shift of the CCSS • Instructional Supports • Assessment/Measurability

  5. ELA Lesson Review Project Let’s Share! • Give a brief overview of the lesson. • Identify the text complexity level. • Identify areas of alignment • Determine one area of need.

  6. ELA Lesson Review Project Group Report! • Choose a lesson review to share • with the total group. • Give details of the lesson plan. • Explain how it aligns with the CCSS. • Determine where a closer alignment • is needed.
