  1. Why decluttering your home can be an uplifting experience

  2. “If you have ever watched “Hoarders” on your TV then you know how quickly clutter in your home can get out of hand. There are not that many people who live in a situation which is that bad but even if your home is mildly cluttered it can become stressful. Is your home too cluttered, and is it time to make use of a storage unit?”

  3. Self-storage is a great idea as you can retain possession of any items you really don’t want to give up, but you can also release valuable space in your home.

  4. How should you start decluttering your home? One very important thing to remember is that you don’t have to do everything at once; sometimes decluttering takes time, and that’s okay. You can start simple and choose a room where you can go through the items in it and spilt them into groups; those that have to remain in your home, those that can go to charity; those that need to go in the trash and those that can go in Utah self-storage. It’s important that you are very strict in your decision making.

  5. How should you choose which items go where? If you are going to invest in Draper storage then you want to make sure you are using it wisely. This is also the case with the space in your home; the whole point of the exercise is to remove unnecessary clutter and provide more space for your day to day activity.

  6. Here’s a tip, pick up an item and ask yourself questions like, when did you last look at it, when did you last use it, does it have any value, or any real sentimental value, how likely are you to ever have need for it again? If the item is something that you use frequently then you are probably justified in keeping it in your home; likewise items that you are keeping for safety reasons, such as necessary tools for emergency repairs. If you have items that are of sentimental value but that you don’t necessarily have to keep directly around you, then maybe it’s time to invest in a good Utah self-storage unit and keep them elsewhere.

  7. The hardest part is identifying items like bags of your children’s old clothes which may no longer be usable and need to go in the trash. Although this is a judgement call, some items like this may be useful to local charities. Remember that decluttering is going to be full of tough choices that you are going to have to make, so take your time and set some time aside in-between sorting for a treat like a meal out, or even a viewing of your favorite movie. It will help make the experience less stressful. You will be amazed at how soon your home can be more structured and all of the clutter can be in the trash, with a local charity or in your Utah storage unit.
