Defining GP boundaries in Sheffield • Investment in 1:10 000 Scale Raster will ensure that the entire Sheffield population will be better covered by GP practices. • General Medical Services (GMS) contracts, introduced in April 2004, require that GP practices agree a catchment area with their Primary Care Trust. The Sheffield Health Informatics Service invested in 1:10 000 scale mapping to define GP boundaries in Sheffield.
