  2. Physical Taking care of your body is what physical health is about. Are you eating right, exercising, getting enough sleep, avoiding disease or illness, getting regular check ups with your doctor? You only get one body – are you treating it well?

  3. Do you exercise most days of the week? Do you get plenty of rest at night? Do you eat healthy food, including snacks? How you take care of yourself will effect your physical health. Eating the right foods and exercising regularly will have a positive effects on your physical health.

  4. Social Social health involves getting along with other people. This includes being a caring member of a family, making new friends, keeping friends, and giving support to those friends and family members when they need it.

  5. How do get along with others? Can you peacefully work out your problems? Are you a good listener? Can your friends count on you when they need help? Your answers to these questions will help you to assess your social health. Can you imagine asking or offering someone help or support?

  6. Mental/ Emotional Mental and emotional health involves what you think of yourself as a person. Liking the person you are and accepting who you are. This includes finding safe and effective ways to manage stress, expressing your emotions in a healthy way, and finding solutions to problems when they arise.

  7. Do you feel good about who you are? Do you handle stressful situations well? Or know how to? Do you have a positive attitude about things in you life? Your answers will help you understand about your mental/emotional health. A positive attitude helps you deal with difficult issues that may occur in your life. If you feel overwhelmed by certain situations, know when it’s time to ask for help.

  8. Each side of the health triangle is equally important to good health. By working to keep each side balanced you will be on your way toward being a healthy person and living a healthy lifestyle.
