  2. AP Biology • AP Chemistry • AP Environmental Science • AP Physics B (Non calculus-based) • AP Physics C (Calculus-based) • Electricity and Magnetism • Mechanics AP Science Courses (all 6 credits)

  3. READ application form • Fill the application out completely • Submit the application to the teacher of the course you wish to take Application Procedure

  4. Fill out TWO (2) forms or photocopy the original and give a separate copy to BOTH teachers • Make sure you indicate your 1st and 2nd choice clearly Applicants for 2 AP Science Courses

  5. The following slides will outline the SUGGESTED prerequisites for each course. While all AP teachers recommend an Honors level prerequisite, a CP level prerequisite may be sufficient. • AP Classes are the equivalent of first-year college classes and move at a college pace. Please make sure that your background in your chosen class is strong or you will have a lot of catching up to do! Prerequisite Information

  6. AP Biology Suggested Prerequisites: • Biology Honors • Chemistry Honors • (possible to take w/o chemistry but not recommended) Summer Assignment Prerequisites/Corequisites

  7. AP Chemistry Suggested Prerequisites: • Chemistry Honors (or “A” in Chemistry CP) • Algebra 1 and 2 (Alg. 2 can be taken concurrently) Summer Assignment Prerequisites/Co-requisites

  8. AP Environmental Science Suggested Prerequisites: • Biology Honors (or “A” in Biology CP) Summer Assignment Prerequisites/Corequisites

  9. AP Physics B (non-calculus based) Suggested Prerequisites: • Physics Honors • Algebra 2 Trig. Honors Note: AP B is not a drop down course from AP C – this will not be an option for you so consider carefully which course you want! Prerequisites/Corequisites

  10. AP Physics C Split into separate Electricity & Magnetism (6 cr.) and Mechanics (6 cr.) courses Suggested Prerequisites: • Physics Honors • Algebra 2 Trig. Honors Pre/Corequisite: • Calculus (No exceptions) Prerequisites/Corequisites

  11. OFFICIAL NOTICE: While there is open enrollment for AP Science Electives, students MUST: • Turn in an application by January 30, 2012 to the appropriate teacher • Meet the prerequisites as stated by the course guide NO EXCEPTIONS!!! Due Date for Applications
