  4. GRADE 4 RESULTSPass Rates Language Arts Math Science Adv. Proficient = 10% 41% 41% Proficient = 59% 49% 59% Partially Prof. = 31% 10% 0% Overall Analysis For LA, 69% of the students were proficient or advanced. For Math, 90% of the students were proficient or advanced. For Science, 100% of the students were proficient or advanced. One student scored a perfect 300 in Math; one student scored a perfect 300 in Science.

  6. GRADE 3 RESULTSPASS RATES Language Arts Mathematics Adv. Proficient = 6% 63% Proficient = 77% 37% Partially Prof. = 17% 0% Overall Analysis For LA, 83% of the students were proficient or advanced. For Math, 100% of the students were proficient or advanced. Six students achieved a perfect score of 300 in mathematics.

Writers need to • learn how to compose language around a topic of interest. • learn how to place words on a page and form letters. • learn a variety of ways to construct words. • know how to use capitalization & punctuation. • know how to monitor and correct spelling. • provide an opening/closing. • reread their writing. • include details in varied sentences. • cite text evidence.

Readers need to *look for & use visual information. *remember information & carry it forward in summary form. *learn how to analyze words. *process print rapidly and effortlessly. *sustain fluency and phrasing. *monitor and correct errors. *predict what will happen next. *make connections to self, to text, to world. *synthesize new information & infer what the writer is implying. *analyze & critique the text while reading it.

  14. Summary • Leonardo Grade School does well in the areas of Mathematics and Science in comparison to the District Factor Group, State and District. • The areas of concern continue to be in Reading and Writing across the grade levels.
