  1. InternshipSummer/Fall 2011 Ryan Hewitt Greenwood Community Theater Summer Camp Assistant Director 2011

  2. Greenwood Community theater is located at 110 Main Street in beautiful Uptown Greenwood, South Carolina. • GCT aspires to enrich the community by creating and fostering professionalism and diversity in all its theatrical endeavors and experiences. • The main goal of the theater is to provide theater "for the community and by the community."

  3. GCT believes in the three "c’s" of theatre…Collaboration, Communication and Creativity. We develop teams to learn to better communicate ideas, thoughts and dreams in an imaginative and creative way to an audience. • GCT is a safe environment for people to learn, grow, and create great theatre

  4. And • Each show in the Kids for Kids season will have a specific age range associated with it so our children have the opportunity to work with appropriate groups as they learn and grow and become excellent youth theatre practitioners. • We teach entrepreneurial thinking, these 45 minute to 2 hour long productions are designed for young people to learn to produce, direct, design, work tech, market, stage manage, and perform in.

  5. Professional adult supervision of these shows ensures that our region’s youths have an opportunity to explore and learn in a safe and well defined environment. • Theatre acts as a catalyst for developing the imagination, creative problem solving, and challenging our young people to take responsibility for all their choice making.

  16. Help with the future • My experience working with the kid’s has taught me so much about myself and theater. The kid’s are so fun to work with and this experience made me realize children’s theater is what I want to do with the rest of my life. I also realized how much I did not know especially with the tech side of theater. Which in the future I will learn more about because of the classes I am taking in future semesters.
