  1. The Importance of aConflict-Free Home

  2. Introduction Chaotic households, family arguments, conflicts, and fights are proven to be unhealthy for children, who are more likely to adopt negative behaviors when exposed to unstable environments. Children are naturally positive, but susceptible to their environments, particularly between the ages of 4-8.  It is especially important for parents of young children to remember the motto: peaceful parent, happy child.

  3. Emotional Scenarios If parents or elder family members are loud and aggressive, it can be scary for children, made worse if the child bears the brunt of the argument.  As a result, children can absorb a great deal of the negative energy that they don't understand how to deal with. It can present itself as frustration, silence, low self-esteem, and negative behavioral patterns, all of which represents a child's suffering and not feeling safe. If a child is repeatedly exposed to family fighting or an unstable environment, the mental trauma they absorb only heightens.  This heightened trauma can lead to long bouts of fear, silence, potential disruptive behavior and can result in an emotional outburst.

  4. Peaceful Parent, Happy Child If a child is consistently exposed to an unstable environment, they often lose their sense of security.  It is common for children in these situations to start keeping things to themselves, to avoid further conflict.  This can lead to greater emotional trauma and future issues. One of the most critical parenting tips you can keep in mind to foster a healthy environment for your child is "peaceful parent, happy child.“

  5. Conclusion Often, a fight here and there is unavoidable and doesn't necessarily represent an unstable environment.  In the case of rare arguments, it's still important to talk to your child and make them feel safe and heard.  Something small to us can have an immeasurable impact on a young mind.
