  1. It is Our First 4 Day Week!!!! • Don’t get too comfy… • We are switching seats! • Do not complain about where you are seated. • I already told you that I am making a new seating chart so you had the opportunity to tell me if you needed to sit in the front • Do not complain about who you are sitting next to! • We are a safe community and you will work with whoever I sit you next to

  2. 3 Things

  3. New Jobs • Thank you to our Paper Passer and Time Keeper  • Volunteers

  4. Reminder… • Next Monday, September 9th our presenter for Pythagoras will go!

  5. We are going to have a notation quiz sometime this week!

  6. Quiz Corrections • Your quiz corrections are updated on Infinite Campus. If you want to see your new score, please come see me after school or at lunch • You will have a quiz on Friday! There will be no quiz corrections. • Your Chapter test is a week from Friday • September 13th • 35% of your grade!

  7. After School Tutoring • Monday and Wednesday in the ITC • Homework Center • Thursday • In C-2

  8. 3.1: Types of Angles • Learning Objective: • SWBAT identify the angles formed by two lines and a transversal.

  9. Last Week… • We learned three types of lines. • Think-pair-share

  10. Whiteboards • Identify each of the following. • 1.points that lie in the same plane • 2. two angles whose sum is 180° • 3. the intersection of two distinct intersecting lines • 4. a pair of adjacent angles whose non-common sides are opposite rays coplanar points supplementary angles point linear pair

  11. Vocabulary Transversal • A line that intersects two coplanar lines at two different points. • The transversal t and the other two lines r and s form eight angles.

  12. Corresponding Angles • Angles in the same position. • Lie on the same side of the transversal t and on the same side as r and s. • <1 and <5 • What is another example of corresponding angles?

  13. Alternate Interior Angles Alternate Interior Angles • What do you predict alternative interior angles are based on the picture? • Non-adjacent angles that lie opposite of transversal and lie between r and s.

  14. Alternate Exterior Angles Alternate Exterior Angles • What do you predict alternative exterior angles are based on the picture? • Lie on opposite sides of transversal t and lie outside of r and s.

  15. Same-Side Interior Angles Same-Side Interior Angles • What do you predict these angles look like? • Lie on the same-side as transversal t between lines r and s.

  16. Example 1 Give an example of each angle pair. A. corresponding angles 1 and 5 B. alternate interior angles 3 and 5 C. alternate exterior angles 1 and 7 D. same-side interior angles 3 and 6

  17. Example 2 Give an example of each angle pair. A. corresponding angles 1 and 3 B. alternate interior angles 2 and 7 C. alternate exterior angles 1 and 8 D. same-side interior angles 2 and 3

  18. Example 3 Identify the transversal and classify each angle pair. A. 1 and 3 transversal l corr. s B. 2 and 6 transversal n alt. int s C. 4 and 6 transversal m alt. ext s
