  3. What are our achievement goals for students? Where do we want them to be in three years? How are our students performing? What are the most significant areas of need? Accountability Focused on Student Outcomes 1 2 • Planning and decision making under the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) focuses on what students will do and/or be able to accomplish LCFF Program Decisions What actions will we take to reach our student achievement goals? What resources are available to support our planned actions? 4 3

TRUSD Core Beliefs • All students graduate college and career ready • All students should have a safe, clean, and secure environment that is free of bullying, and creates opportunities for learning • Student engagement is critical to success • Partnerships with all stakeholders are vital to student success • TRUSD should be fiscally sound and maximize resources for student success • TRUSD should honor diversity and create equity across the district • TRUSD should identify, recruit, retain, and develop the best employees

TRUSD LCAP Goals • Increase Academic Achievement & Decrease Disproportionalities • Ensure All Students Graduate College & Career Ready • Improve Culture and Climate through Increased Student Engagement • Increase Parent Engagement • Provide Facilities that are Clean, Safe, and Conducive to Student Learning

The Identification of Needs The data and identified areas of need will drive the meaningful engagement of stakeholders in the development of the LCAP A robust needs assessment is the foundation of an effective LCAP and is the first critical step in the LCAP development process It is the responsibility of the leaders of the LEA to collect and analyze data and identify the most significant areas of need

The LCAP Life Cycle • April – June • Review progress and consult stakeholders in completing annual update and making needed revisions • Finalize following May Revision • Hold public hearing • Adopt and implement • July – October • Evaluate progress • Review the California School Dashboard (Dashboard) • Consult stakeholders Grow Reflect Adapt Adapt • February – March • Draft plan • Present to advisory groups • Respond to comments • Adjust to reflect input • November – January • Identify goals, actions, and services • With Governor’s January Budget, align resources • Consult stakeholders

Engaging Stakeholders in LCAP Development • Engaging stakeholders in the development of the LCAP is required by law(E.C. 52060-52077) • More importantly it: • Provides an opportunity for the LEA to build a shared understanding of the LCFF and LCAP requirements • Facilitates the successful implementation of these new laws • Secures support for and ownership of improved outcomes for students

LCAP Timeline • September through December—Parent Leadership Academy & DELAC provide input for LCAP Annual Review and Process • December 8th – Provide Principal Annual Review Training • School Site Parent group including (SSC, ELAC, Others) input due Feb. 8th • January & February– Host Stakeholder meetings to gather input for annual review • January 10th—LCAP Annual Review Community Meeting – 5:30pm • January 15th – LCAP Parent Leadership Academy (PLA) Meeting – 9:00am • January 17th – LCAP Staff Annual Review Meeting - 5:30pm • January 31st – Superintendent Student Advisory Review Meeting – 10:00am

LCAP Timeline • February 12th – School Board Annual Review Presentation • March & April—Compile & Draft the 19/20 LCAP • May—DRAFT LCAP ready to review by PLA & DELAC • May—DRAFT LCAP posted for stakeholders to review • May—Superintendent responds to LCAP questions from stakeholders • May-June - LCAP finalized and presented to DELAC & PLA • June—LCAP presented to Board for review and adoption

  13. Learning Conversation Protocols • Listen with the intent to understand, rather than waiting to speak. • Be patient • Open your mind to new ideas and learning • Invite differences of opinions • Move away from “either/or” and embrace “and”
