  4. Commonly Missed Questions 3 out of 4 (75%)missed question # 4 4. The technique(s) most commonly associated with modern shot put include: a. The Glide b. The Spin c. The Push d. Both a and b Correct answer d.

  5. Commonly Missed QuestionAnalysis From the study guide: Glide Technique There are different styles and techniques used in shot put, but the most basic and important for initial skill development is called the glide. A new technique, similar to discus was introduced in 1976. However, for this unit, we will focus on the glide. The study guide references a second technique, but does not call it the “spin.” A student would have to know the discus technique to make a connection. Therefore this questions is flawed. This was also the only “both a and b” question.

  8. With the exception of question 4, the exam material was easily referenced in the study guide. Perhaps, the extremely high scores call for a more challenging exam. This exam covered Information, but very little application. To ensure a thorough understanding of shot put, more “application” concepts would be appropriate. NOTE: Study guide corrected 9/21 to address issue with #4 Conclusion
