Highway 36 • Single-lane in each direction – Open AT ALL TIMES • Work: Resurface road • Westbound: Spring to mid-summer 2014(red) • Eastbound: Mid-summer to fall 2014(green)
South Frontage Road – East of Osgood • Closed to through traffic • Local access to businesses and residences • Work: Resurface road, replace public utilities • Spring to mid-summer 2014 (red)
Hwy 95 / Lookout Trail / Sunnyside • Hwy 95 • Single-lane in each direction • Work: Construct 4-lane road • Spring to mid-summer 2014 (red) • Lookout Trail • Work: Reconstruct access to Hwy 95 • to right in/out intersection • Spring to mid-summer 2014 • Sunnyside Marina • Work: Reconstruct driveway • Spring to mid-summer 2014
North Frontage Road • North Frontage Road – Northwestern to Greeley • Possible detours to access North Frontage Road. • Work: Resurface road, add turn lane, add curb & gutter • Spring to mid-summer 2014(red)
North Frontage Road • North Frontage Road – Greeley to Osgood • Possible detours to access North Frontage Road, either from Greeley St. or Osgood Ave. • Permanent closure of right in/out connection to Hwy 36 • Work: Resurface road, add turn lane, add curb & gutter • Spring to mid-summer 2014(red)
Greeley St./Oakgreen Ave. Intersection • North/south traffic closed for 2 periods of 6 calendar days each • Oakgreen—Closed between S. Frontage Road and 58th St./Oak Park Blvd. for 25 days. Local residential access only. (green) • Work: Build new frontage road system further away from Hwy 36; shift intersection to the east; install three traffic signal systems; add double left turn lanes
Osgood Ave. Intersection • North/south traffic closed for 2 periods of 6 calendar days each • Work: Add double left turn lanes, resurface intersection • Osgood intersection and Greeley-Oakgreen intersection WILL NOT close at the same time
S. Frontage Road – Oakgreen to Osgood • Possible detours/temporary roads to access businesses/residences • Work: Resurface road, add turn lane, add curb & gutter, replace public utilities • Late summer to fall2014 (blue)
Trail Construction • Work: Construct pedestrian/bicycle trails • Occurs as time allows, complete in fall 2014
Wisconsin Approach Work Work occurs: March 2014-late summer 2016 Goal: Open WIS 64 at the same time as the new bridge
2014 Wisc. Approach Work • Grade from the bluff to County Road E • Build the WIS 35 overpass over the new WIS 64
Bridge Superstructure • Timeline: Dec. 2013 to late-summer/early fall 2016 • Winter/Spring 2014 Impacts: Pile driving on the Minnesota shoreline and work on Pier 8 • Through May • 6 days per week -- 7 a.m.-7 p.m. • Goal: As much work done as possible while windows are closed
2014 Bridge Construction • Build all river piers and land piers vertically (Piers 1-13)
2014 Bridge Construction • Begin casting segments – Approx. 1,000 • 656 extradosed segments • 330 approach segments • Two casting yard locations -- Gray Cloud Island and at the Hwy 36/95 interchange • Place first segment in fall 2014
