The imperfect tense is used in Spanish to describe: • 1) Repeated actions in the past: • Comíamos a las dos todos los días. • (we ateat two every day.) • 2) Backgrounds details (what someone or something was like or was doing): • El hotel eramuy grande. • ( The hotel was very big.) • 3) What people used to do and what things used to be like: • Antes vivía con mis abuelos, pero ahora vivo sola. • ( I used to livewith my grandparents, but I live on my own now.)
