  4. A Look Inside…The Sexual Harassment Toolkit

  5. Sexual Harassment Toolkit: Purpose The purpose of the sexual harassment toolkit is to share knowledge and resources that have been found to be useful in developing programs for preventing sexual harassment in high schools.

  6. Sexual Harassment Toolkit: Defining Sexual Harassment This section of the toolkit included: • Defining and Examples of Sexual Harassment • Prevalence of Sexual Harassment in High School • Why Sexual Harassment Occurs • Laws Regarding Sexual Harassment

  7. Sexual Harassment Toolkit: Prevention Tips for High Schools This section of the toolkit helps high schools focus on preventing sexual harassment through three main components: • Introducing the idea of creating lesson plans for health or science classes that introduce the topic of sexual harassment and prevention/intervention strategies • Considering educational programming (such as healthy relationship orientations) on campus • Considering the introduction of a peer education/advocacy group on the high school’s campus that encourages sexual harassment education intervention and prevention

Sexual Harassment Toolkit: Prevention Tips for Parents This section of the tool kit provides parents with prevention strategies related to: • Identifying sexual harassment • What to do if their child or a child they know becomes a victim of sexual harassment • How to get involved in school policy related to sexual harassment

  9. Sexual Harassment Toolkit: Prevention Tips for Students This section of the tool provides students with knowledge on: • Understanding how to recognize sexual harassment • What to do if they or someone they know become a victim of sexual harassment

  10. Creating a Peer Education/Advocacy Group on Campus • This section of the toolkit focuses on explaining how to create the group in their high school.

  11. Sexual Harassment Toolkit: Other Sections The other sections of the toolkit focus on exploring facts and creating conversation started in reference to sexual harassment intervention and prevention strategies. • Crossing the Line • Quizzes • Resources
