  3. Deputy Leader. About Me: Courtney Davidson • Middle class family with extremely liberal values • Degree in law from the University of Harvard • One of the most famous faces among women in liberal politics.

Civil Rights. • Apportion $20 billion - Human Rights Commission • Gays/lesbians permitted in the military • Gays/lesbians permitted to married • Create the Non-Discrimination Employment Act • Support abortion under circumstances. • Create Rehabilitation Act for nonviolent criminals • Franklin citizens 18 years and over can vote

  7. Economics. • Mixed economy • National sales tax  4% to prevent deficit • States sales tax shall not exceed 3.5% • Progressive income tax • $29 billion to government subsidies • Limit monopolies • Care for environment • Support protectionism • Provide for unemployment assistance

  8. Education. • Apportion $20 billion for a free publicly funded through the high school level • Fund schooling through local, state, and national tax • Limited funding to private schools ($10 billion) • Support higher education • Government will provide ways of financial aid and grants

  9. Energy. • Encourage the use of energy efficient homes, cars, and appliances • Apportion $10 billion that balance the production of oil, natural gas, and coal

Environment. • Apportion $12 billion for the Franklin Environmental Protection Agency - regulate amount of carbon dioxide and other harmful gases - regulate corporations dumping wastes into lakes, streams, ponds, and rivers - limited use on coal-burning utilities - metal - smelting will also be limited

  11. Foreign Policy. • Will continue to station troops in Afghanistan • Will continue its membership in the United Nations • Apportion $6 billion to establish embassies throughout the world - fund a larger operation at the United Nations • Apportion $35 billion to cover military levels and equipment • Apportion $15 billion to cover all current operations

  12. Healthcare. • Government needs to protect the citizen’s health care • We make it easier for all citizens to be covered by insurance. • We will apportion $30 billion to help states provide a basic package • $3 billion for a prescription drug plan
