  2. Meeting Objectives • To transmit the AU Five-Year Strategic Plan (2014-2018) to all Schools and Administrative Units

  3. 2. To ensure all Schools / Administrative Units understand the mechanism and process of developing the School / Unit Five-Year Strategic Plan in alignment with the AU Five-Year Strategic Plan (2014-2018)

  4. 3. To monitor the process of developing the School / Administrative Unit Five-Year Strategic Plan (Template, submission and approval time-frame)

  5. Objectives, Mechanism and Process • Strategies - Objectives - Tactics • Indicators and Targets 2014-2018 • Strategic Plan Template Topics : of Discussion

  6. AU Five-Year Strategic Plan (2014-2018) : Objectives 1. Direction and framework for the University’s performance in alignment with the University’s mission

  10. Duties and Responsibilities • Develop the AU Five-Year Strategic Plan • (2014-2018) • Approve the Five-Year Strategic Plan of • all Schools and Administrative Units

  11. Process 1. Committee meetings: Strategies, objectives and tactics Small working groups: Tactics, indicators and targets

  12. 2. Requested all Schools and Administrative Units for comments and suggestions

  13. 3. Submitted the AU Five-Year Strategic Plan (2014-2018) to the University Council for approval : 16 January 2014

  14. 4. Transmitted the AU Five-Year Strategic Plan to all Schools and Administrative Units : 20 and 21 February 2014

  15. 5. Organized meetings of School representatives: 27 February 2014, 9.00-11.00 and Administrative Unit representatives : 27 February 2014, 13.30-15.30

  16. Give approval to Five-Year Strategic Plan of all Schools and Administrative Units : Within 15 April 2014

  17. 2. School / Administrative Unit Strategic Planning Committees appointed by Deans / Directors • Develop the Five-Year Strategic Plan • Disseminate the Five-Year Strategic Plan to • all members for comments and suggestions

  18. Propose the Five-Year Strategic Plan to • School’s / Unit’s Committee for • review and approval

  19. Propose the Five- Year Strategic Plan to • AU Strategic Planning Committee for • final approval within 15 March 2014

  20. Transmit the approved Five-Year • Strategic Plan to all members, and internal • divisions / centers for implementation by • translating the Five-Year Strategic Plan into • the action plan (One-Year Plan and Budget)
