How this works • You may use these non-Angel online units as • an alternative to the Angel units • makeup credit for low scores on an Angel unit • extra credit • Do as many or as few as you like, no matter where you’re at in the course. • You may earn enough points to pass the course by doing just 12 of them (instead of the Angel units). • If you do 18 of them (instead of the Angel units) you will have finished the course.

Japanese Internment Creative Project Densho DIRECTIONS Please choose one essential question to answer with your project: Was the internment of Japanese-Americans constitutional or unconstitutional? Why and how were Japanese-Americans interned in camps What was daily life like for a Japanese-American interned in the camps? Explore http://www.densho.org to learn more. You can create a multimedia poster which can include art, photos, music, video, animation, etc. A short manga: Use your anime skills and create a short manga to answer your essential question. A short story: Create an original short story based on your essential question. Yes, you can mix fiction with reality, but, historical fiction contains true historical facts, but fiction characters and details. Imagine you are a non-Japanese American in early 1942. Write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper arguing for or against the constitutionality of Japanese internment. Once you have completed your project, please answer the following question: Do you think the U.S. government might ever intern another minority group? Support your answer with at least 3 details.
