  4. The Broadway Junior Theater Celebration offers an enthusiastic, educational environment for students and teachers to interact with hundreds of others who share their passion for musical theatre. Created and directed by iTheatrics, a premiere creative consultant in educational musical theatre based in New York City, in association with the leading theatrical licensor Music Theatre International (MTI) and the North Carolina Blumenthal Performing Arts Center’s Education Department.

During the celebration, each school group will perform a selection of a Broadway Junior musical before a distinguished panel of theatre professionals who will provide them with valuable feedback about their creativity, engagement in the performance, understanding of the material and connection to the lyrics and movement. The 2013 Broadway Junior Celebration will be held on Tuesday, April 9th and Wednesday, April 10th!  (Might already be filled for the year) • Michelle Youngs, Education Programs Manager • 704-348-5836 (phone) • myoungs@ncbpac.org

  5. The designation “Thespian” includes student members who excel in technical and production fields as well as performance in their high school theatre. Junior Thespians are middle school/junior high members of ITS. • You became eligible for induction into the honor society by completing at least fifty hours of excellent work in the theatre and related arts. As a Junior Thespian, you uphold the Thespian motto, “Act well your part; there all the honor lies.” The theatre skills, experience, and dedication you’re developing as a Junior Thespian will give you a head start on high school, so you’ll enter your freshman year with half of the Thespian points you’ll need for high school Thespian induction.
