  1. Community Pharmacy • the multiples • Information Governance • in England Yorkshire and Humberside Goole Group 12th February 2010

  2. IG from the Multiples perspective • The Multiple Pharmacies are committed to IG • 9 members of CCA (you should have contact list) and AIMp are working together • CCA Members handle the prescription data for approx 55% of the UK population • The implications for Brand damage are considerable – potentially disastrous • Involved in DH/CfH/PSNC/RPS discussions since last February

  3. Current position - • The IG Toolkit V7 – 18 Requirements (?) and a website Declaration • Baseline by March 2010, individual sites V8 at Level 2 by March 2011 • The NHS IG Pharmacy Contractor Workbook • 64 pages • The IG Training Booklet for Pharmacy Staff • 20 pages • Received by most sites

  4. What next? • We are waiting discussion with DH about one uniform baseline Declaration across all sites of a Multiple • And centralised Bulk Load – Registration and Declaration • And management of site Registration and Quality Control of Declarations made • And commercial risk if we Declare a public/PCT visible baseline Declaration of less than Level 2 • And feedback on the Strategy for and structure of a Head Office Statement of Evidence • And the effect of this on PCT auditing

  5. Where is Lloydspharmacy? • Sites have been asked to identify and notify Sapphire Court of a Local Information Governance Lead (LIGL) and • To do nothing else at the moment (might compromise other initiatives) • We have an IG Pack in pilot in three pharmacies (42) • Assessing Pain : Gain : Devaluation effect

  6. PCT help • Some PCTS will be offering training and guidance – we are happy for staff to attend - with caveats • do not Register for an IGT account yet • Local assessments will be made in the context of Head Office achievements and a Head Office Statement of Evidence so working through the PSNC Booklet is not appropriate • Further training (other than the IGTT which is not acceptable) will be provided before March 2011 – probably at least a CBT with the same content as supplied by CfH
