  1. Germany Part 2 has arrived! Christmas Traditions

  2. Christkind • The Christkind is a very special person in Germany • She is chosen each year to dress-up in a long white and gold dress, a gold crown and sometimes wings like an angel

  3. Christkind • The Nurnberg Christkind opens the Christmas market • She also visits hospitals, old people’s homes and nurseries

  4. Christmas Trees • Christmas trees in Germany are very important • For young children, their Mum decorates them in secret • They put them up on Christmas Eve and sing songs and read the bible if they are Christians

  5. Sternsingers (star singers) • Sternsingers go from house to house singing and collecting money for charity • They are 4 children – 3 wise men and 1 carries a star on a stick • After singing they write on the door of the house with chalk • It is bad luck to wipe it off • They do this between December 27th and January 6th
