  6. WHAT WE DECIDED • We wanted to find out what other children thought should be in Wingate • We decided to do some research

  7. WHAT WE DID • A small group of us met up and worked on different things • Looked at what research is • Looked a different ways of getting people to tell us what they want • Planned the research days

  12. RESEARCH MATERIAL WE USED WISH LIST Children drew what they wanted to see in Wingate

  13. WHO USED IT • Younger children did wish lists which they could paint, draw and colour

  14. MATERIAL WE USED SURVEY We decided what questions to use and who was going to complete it

  15. WHO USED IT Questionnaires were used with years 5&6 in Junior School and in the local clubs

  17. WHO USED IT • WE USED THE PICTURES IN SCHOOLS AND SPOKE ABOUT WHAT WE SAW • WE ALSO RECORDED THEIR IDEAS ON A DICTA PHONE

  18. MATERIAL WE USED • VIDEO We used a video to help make discussion in schools around what they like and dislike in Wingate

  19. WHO SAW THE VIDEO • Stacy, Judy and others made a video of the local parks and we showed this in the infant and junior schools

  22. CONCLUSION • We have found out that the 5 most important things to 5-13 year olds are: • Better parks and better equipment • Shops • Skate park for Blades, BMX, Skateboards • Football pitch and clubs • Swimming pool

  23. WHAT WE LIKED ABOUT DOING THE RESEARCH • WE GOT SOME DAYS OFF OF SCHOOL • WORKED WITH KIDS • SOMETHING DIFFERENT

  24. WHAT WE DID NOT LIKE • The older children were harder to talk to • Teachers didn’t work with me 3. It was very hectic
