  1. Understanding Online Learning This slideshow will help you understand the expectations of your online learning experience this summer

  2. Your Google Apps Account You will only use your school-issued Google account for classes this summer. You may not use a personal email or google account. You will work in Google Drive to create and submit assignments for your class. You should check your email and your class folders each morning as soon as you wake up. This will allow you to keep up to date on the latest assignments.

  3. Class Folders Your teacher has shared a folder with you. Please move this folder to "My Drive". Each folder serves a different purpose. Make sure you know the role of each folder. You teacher will make it very clear where your assignments can be found, and where your personal assignments should be turned in.

  4. Working in Drive Unless you are told otherwise, please create all assignments in Google Drive. This includes documents, slideshow presentations, and spreadsheets. This allows your teacher to edit, review, and comment on your assignments. Any work completed in Microsoft and uploaded into Google will be rejected. No assignments may be emailed to your teacher.

  5. Creating and Working with Documents To create an assignment, click the red "create" button and choose the type of assignment you wish to create. Title your assignment and begin working. To comment on your assignment, highlight a section, right click, and choose "comment". This is helpful for asking your teacher questions.

  6. Class Blog This class will use a blog to encourage class discussion. The web address for the blog can be found in the class' blog folder. All comments left on the blog are directly traced to your username. Please be respectful of everyone in your blog comments. All comments should use proper English and should follow all grammar rules and expectations.

  7. Meeting in Person The blended learning summer classes can also meet in person if needed. Students will report to school at their designated class time to take formal assessments like tests. Students will also report to school on the following days...

  8. Tonight's Homework Review the class folder and its contents. Make sure you understand how the class will operate. Open your individual student folder and create a document. Title this assignment "First Day". Please explain any difficulties that you think you might have with our online learning. Ask specific questions so we can talk about these points tomorrow.
